Day 3955: Scary

Today is Halloween 2023, which is scary.

As I know from my work as a group therapist and from my experience as a human being, life can be very scary, no matter what day it is.

I’m realizing I need to have some scary conversations with people in order to move forward through these scary times.

What makes a conversation scary? To me, a conversation is scary if people might feel insulted, angry, or betrayed.

I guess I’ll just have to use the same technique I’ve used with many scary conversations: (1) Show up, (2) Be gentle, (3) Tell the truth.

Is there anything scary in my images for today?

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “scary” on YouTube.

.

Thanks to all who are helping me get through these scary times, including YOU!

Day 3954: I don’t know what I’m doing

Whenever I do something new, I inevitably think, “I don’t know what I’m doing,” so it’s good to see that I’m not alone.

.

I don’t know what I’m doing creating an album of my original songs, but I plan to talk to people who do know what they’re doing.

I don’t know what I’m doing on TikTok, but I did create a video there yesterday of Joan not knowing what she was doing with whole wheat matzo.

.

I don’t know what I’m doing pulling together other images as fast as I can to create a blog post before I catch a very early ferry to work, but I hope it turns out okay.

.

I don’t know what I’m doing today besides working, but perhaps I’ll create a checklist of other things.

Thanks to all those who help and support me when I don’t know what I’m doing, like YOU!

Day 3953: Make a difference

When I think about my wish for myself in this world, my hope is to make a difference in positive ways, small, medium, or large.

I wonder if today’s blog post will make a difference.

.

On International Internet and National Cat Day, I hope to make a difference by sharing (1) kind and creative people who connect on the internet and (2) cats.

Here’s what I find on the internet when I search for “make a difference.”

.

Thanks to Verity Leung, kind and creative people who connect on the internet, cats and other wonderful creatures, and all those who make a difference, including YOU.

Day 3952: Cranky

Many people I know are cranky these days, including me. Maybe that’s why I asked this question last night on Twitter (the name “X” makes me cranky):

.

People in my Coping and Healing groups also seem less cranky when they realize they are not alone.

I’m too cranky to introduce or explain the rest of my images for today.

.

This cranky person is glad that today is National Chocolate Day and that she shared this picture on Hug a Sheep and Plush Animal Lovers Day:

.

Here’s what I find when I look for “cranky” on YouTube.

.

Feel free to leave a cranky comment, below, and thanks to all who help me when I’m cranky, including YOU.

Day 3951: Kindness

During these scary times of ongoing heartache, we all need kindness. I hope you can find some kindness in today’s blog post.

.

Here’s what I find when I search for kindness on YouTube.

.

Here’s more kindness:

.

Thanks to all who show and deserve kindness, including YOU.

Day 3950: Ongoing heartache

These days, there are so many reasons to feel ongoing heartache, including another mass shooting in the USA, described here in the Boston Globe:

In that same article, Gabby Giffords expressed ongoing heartache:

.

Knowing our leaders won’t act means ongoing heartache. When I look at the news, the ongoing heartache can be unbearable.

In the midst of all this ongoing heartache, here are my other images for today.

.

Here’s what I find when I search YouTube for “ongoing heartache.”

.

Thanks to all who give me hope during ongoing heartache, including you.

Day 3949: Ability

Because I have the ability to do so, lately I’ve been thinking a great deal about ability. I wonder if I have the ability to

  • make tricky decisions,
  • remain optimistic and eager about life as the years go by,
  • remember everything I need to function effectively,
  • convince medical treaters where I work to attend burnout-reducing Balint groups,
  • balance my needs with others’ needs,
  • overcome my fears to create and successfully pull off a concert of my original songs,
  • make this blog, which always helps me, helpful to you, and
  • organize today’s images into a good enough story.

.

I have the ability to observe several of those, including National I Care About You Day.

Here’s what I find when I search for “ability” on YouTube.

.

If you have the ability and inclination to comment about this Ability post, please do so below.

I always have the ability to thank everyone who helps me create this daily blog, including YOU!

Day 3948: Really Healthy

For me, it’s really healthy to spend time with wonderful people (including you) and to look at the Daily Bitch Calendar.

.

Yesterday, it was really healthy for me to take the ferry to work and to meet up with my old (as in almost 40 years ago) student Chris Delyani, who keeps writing terrific novels!

There’s Chris in front of the “No Judgment” sign in my office, which I think is really healthy. It’s really healthy for Chris (who lives in California) and I (who lives in Massachusetts) to reconnect whenever we can and to share what helps us stay really healthy. Yesterday, he said he would do his best to attend my live-concert album performance in May, which is really healthy for me.

Do you see anything really healthy in my other images for today?

.

Let’s see if I can find something really healthy on YouTube.

.

Thanks to all who help keep me really healthy, including YOU!

Day 3947: Point of view

When I read the news and when I listen to people, I recognize that everyone has their own point of view, Maybe that’s why I appreciated seeing this point of view on somebody’s garage yesterday.

.

Do you see a point of view in the other images I’m sharing today?

.

If I slapped my irritating co-worker today, I doubt they would see my point of view.

My point of view (shared by others) about a great song title is this one from Dan Hicks:

.

I’m also working on a new song with a title that I hope will be great: “I’m a Narcissist.”

Here’s what I find when I search YouTube for “point of view.”

.

Thanks to everyone who has a point of view, including YOU!

Day 3946: Smart is Cool Day

Happy Smart is Cool Day, everybody!

Let’s see whether the National Days website has anything smart or cool to share about Smart is Cool Day.

I actually knew that smart people have rich, interesting lives and stories worth sharing, and not just because I’m currently reading this book:

.

Personally, I believe that smart is cool every day of the year, and I wonder why so many other people don’t share that opinion.

Wouldn’t it be cool if my other images for today were a good match for Smart Is Cool Day?

.

On CAPS Lock Day (and every day), I THINK WE NEED SMART, COOL PEOPLE TO HELP CLEAN UP THE EARTH.

On Smart is Cool Day, I want to learn something about Kof Awareness Day, of which I was not aware.

.

Cool! Now let’s see what I find on YouTube when I search for “smart is cool day.”

.

As you can see in that video, one suggestion for how to celebrate Smart is Cool Day is to take an IQ test. Here’s something cool about IQ tests I just found on a smart and cool website:

.

On Smart is Cool Day, 2023, I find that both surprising and somewhat reassuring.

Thanks to everyone who helped me create this Smart is Cool Day post, including YOU!
