Day 3772: Friends

Yesterday, as I prepared for an adventure down the Rhine River with friends (which starts tomorrow!), I noticed friends all around me. Do you see friends in my images for today?

On National Honesty Day, I can honestly say that (1) I love my friends and (2) I wonder if any of my friends know what Spank Out Day and Walpurgis Night are all about, because I don’t.

In any case, I will be flying out on Walpurgis Night with a friend to meet more friends on a boat tomorrow. I feel sad about the friends I am leaving behind but I know I’ll be connecting with friends here throughout the trip.

Here‘s what I find on YouTube when I search for friends:

.

Thanks to all my friends, including YOU!

Day 3771: A sense of purpose

As a group therapist, I’ve learned that a sense of purpose is essential for people’s mental health.

Yesterday, I saw my sense of purpose in an online word game.

.

Do you see a sense of purpose in my other images for today?

.

On World Healing Day, I’m glad to be writing about how having a sense of purpose is healing (even if it sounds exhausting).

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for a sense of purpose:

.

Thanks to all who help sustain my sense of purpose every day, including YOU!

Day 3770: Stories we like to tell

As a therapist, I listen to stories that people like to tell. Some stories are curative; others are habitual retellings of internalized toxic beliefs.

A story I like to tell is that people are capable of change, growth, and healing, no matter what awful experiences they’ve had.

I expect I’ll have stories I like to tell from my vacation in Europe next week. The last time I took a trip, I certainly had stories (see here for one of them).

Do you see stories we like to tell in my images for today?

The Daily Bitch likes to tell fascinating stories.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for the stories we like to tell.

I look forward to reading the stories you like to tell.

Thanks to all who help me share the stories we like to tell in this blog, including YOU!

Day 3769: Confident

I’m confident that, with over 10 years of experience doing this daily blog, I can create a good enough post today.

I’m confident that I can figure out what to pack for a river cruise down the Rhine next week.

I’m confident that I’ll see many beautiful sights during the river cruise.

I’m confident that our cat Joan’s eye problems will clear up soon and that my husband Michael will help take care of that while I’m away.

I’m confident that I’ll be able to blog and tweet during my trip.

I’m confident that saying I’m confident helps me feel more confident.

I’m confident that you’ll enjoy the images I have to share with you today.

I’m confident that we could all tell a story on Tell a Story Day.

Here’s what a confident search on YouTube reveals:

I’m confident that this comment about that YouTube video is helpful:

Thanks to all who help me feel more confident every day, including YOU.

Day 3768: Organized

Today is Get Organized Day!

If left to my own devices, the spaces I inhabit do not seem organized. For years, I judged myself for that because of messages like these:

Then, when I was in my late 20s and dissatisfied with my job as a writer in high tech, I got organized enough to take a battery of helpful aptitude tests. Among other life-changing information, I learned that I didn’t need to keep my environment organized because I have an unusually organized mind. Since then, I don’t judge the ways I’m organized.

Now it’s time to get the rest of my images for today organized for you.

It looks like the Daily Bitch has organized her recycling.

Here’s what I find when I search for “organized” on YouTube.

Now I’m thinking about all the time I’ve saved by NOT being that organized.

I also like the way the universe is organized so that I’m posting this photo from our vet’s office on Administrative Professionals Day:

Thanks to all who help me be organized enough to organize this blog every day, including YOU!

Day 3767: Assumptions

I try to let go of assumptions, but that’s very difficult. My assumption is that I’m not alone in that.

This morning, I started making assumptions as soon as I woke up. For example, when I saw this …

… I made the assumption that today was Arbor Day. It’s not.

I also made the assumption that today’s blog would be difficult to write. It’s not.

Do you see assumptions in my other images for today?

What assumptions did you make when you were looking at those pictures?

Here’s what I find when I search YouTube for assumptions:

I also find this:

.

If people have assumptions that I’ll be ending this post with gratitude, you’re right!

Day 3766: Taking a chance

I’m taking a chance that there will be some good quotes about taking a chance out there.

Next week I’ll be taking a chance and going on a river cruise in Europe for the first time. I don’t want to take a chance with my health so I’ll be packing my INR monitoring device and additional medicine in case my INR goes too low. I don’t want to take a chance of having another Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) like I did when I was traveling in September.

I also don’t want to take a chance with our cat Joan’s eye problem which is not getting better, so I’m going to call the vet today.

Am I taking a chance with any of my other images for today?

Looks like the Daily Bitch is taking a chance with pizza.

I hope you’ll be taking a chance to hear this great song about taking a chance on love.

.

Thanks to all who are taking a chance, including YOU!

Day 3765: What on earth is going on?

What on earth is going on in this blog post?

On Take a Chance Day, I’m going to take a chance that I’ll find something interesting on YouTube when I search for “what on earth is going on?

Also, here’s Marvin Gaye with “What’s Going On.”

.

Thanks to all those who help me try to figure out what on earth is going on, including YOU.

Day 3764: Good people

Here and now, I have many good people in my life, which is very good.

My parents were good people and today, on my late mother’s birthday, I’d like to post a picture of her with my son Aaron, who is also good people.

.

Do you see good people in my other images for today?

.

As you can see, there are a lot of good people on Twitter, despite its dumb fuckwad reputation (and owner).

Let’s see if I can find any good people on YouTube.

.

Thanks to all the good people in my life, including YOU!

Day 3763: Big Word Day

Yesterday, due to a miscalculation, aberration, inaccuracy, erratum, or whatever word you want to call it, I posted the wrong compendium of diurnal commemorations, including Big Word Day.

Please accept my unfeigned and ingenuous atonement for that happenchance.

Do you see any capacious or humongous words in my images for the bona fide Big Word Day?

The Daily Bitch seems rather lugubrious on Big Word Day.

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “Big Word Day.”

I’m looking forward to every small, medium, and big word people choose to share in the comments section, below.

Thanks, gratitude, and appreciativeness for all who help me find my words in this daily blog, including YOU!
