Day 1497: Why wait?

Why wait?  Why not just act, here and now, and deal with the consequences?

Why wait to

  • move?
  • change?
  • grow?
  • love?

Why wait for two signs I saw yesterday about waiting?

Why wait to move to a new place and leave the old place behind?

Why wait, when we are all mortal?

Why wait, when we don’t know what tomorrow will bring?

Why wait to share confusion about two opposite sayings about waiting?

He who hesitates is lost.

Look before you leap.

Why wait to show you my other photos from yesterday?

Why wait for Tom Petty and this great song about waiting?

Did you wait for “The Waiting”?

Why wait to express your thoughts and feelings in a comment?

Why wait to show gratitude and appreciation?

  1. very interesting approach…

  2. This is the perfect question for me today. And so at 6:16, I am off to start the day.

    Have a good one,NN!

  3. Perfect timing Ann- why wait is what I have been thinking… but then look before you leap creeps in…. decisions, decisions…. have a good Sunday !

  4. Why wait, indeed? “Waiting is the hardest part.” We bought a Florida condo last year after three years of searching for just the right place and waiting for just the right time. It isn’t exactly what we wanted but close enough for now. Real estate is hot down here, so if in a year or so we want something even more suitable, we’ll do another search. It’s kind of fun. But I do love getting settled in and making a house a home. Best to you on this journey!

  5. Haha! I can’t wait to read that book of Inappropriate thoughts! But I guess I’ll have to because I have to wait to go see if I can buy it until the book store opens because if I order it online I’ll have to wait for it to arrive, and I don’t want to wait! 🙂

Whew. That’s a lot of not waiting to wait!

And I can’t wait to tell you how much I appreciate how you start my day with such fascinating thoughts — and none of them inappropriate! 🙂

  6. Indeed, when you reach the point of no where then why wait. Just to let the consequence come and have to deal with it. Why wait..

  7. I heard Tom Petty’s song in my head as soon as I saw the title–no waiting. And yet I remember being taught “Good things come to those who wait”.
I’m still waiting for an instruction manual for life.

  8. “Of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these, ‘It might have been.” – John Greenleaf Whittier
Waste not the time that God gives to make straight our ways.
    -Alan

  9. Why wait you ask, because sometimes if we do not wait we end up getting hit by a bus, or car we need to wait for the little green man to over power the little red man

  10. “Why wait” is the opposite of “All things come to him who waits.”

    However, Buddha says:

“Do not pursue the past. Do not lose yourself in the future. The past no longer is. The future has not yet come. Looking deeply at life as it is. In the very here and now, the practitioner dwells in stability and freedom. We must be diligent today. To wait until tomorrow is too late. Death comes unexpectedly. How can we bargain with it? The sage calls a person who knows how to dwell in mindfulness night and day, ‘one who knows the better way to live alone.’” Gautama Buddha

“If it is not truthful and not helpful, don’t say it. If it is truthful and not helpful, don’t say it. If it is not truthful and helpful, don’t say it. If it is truthful and helpful, wait for the right time.”-Gautama Buddha

“We must be diligent today. To wait until tomorrow is too late. Death comes unexpectedly. How can we bargain with it?”-Gautama Buddha

“Fools wait for a lucky day, but everyday is a lucky day for an industrious man.”-Gautama Buddha

  11. Why wait? Because it’s now or never. In the twinkling of an eye it could be never which could happen in the twinkling of an eye.

  12. hello ann koplow its dennis the vizsla dog hay yes as the faymus minstrel paula cole wunse sayng i dont wanna wait!!!
