Day 1998: Good

It’s good that I noticed that my first two photos from yesterday have good in them.

Do you see the good there, my good people?  Do you see the good in other people? Do you see more good than bad?

I guess I see more good than bad:   I’ve written 41 posts here with the word “Good” in the title (starting with Day 3: The Fear of Feeling Too Good) and I’ve written 14 posts with the word “Bad” in the title (starting with Day 263: Bad Day/Good Day, which has good in it, too).

Do you see the good in the other photos here?

A good friend texted me that good drawing, above, with this good caption: “Got your back.”

Last night, at a good board meeting, I sang a small portion of this very good song from Into the Woods,  in memory of our very good friend, Michelle.

The good lyrics I sang were these:

Sometimes people leave you

Halfway through the wood.

Do not let it grieve you

No one leaves for good.

You are not alone.  No one is alone.

It’s always good to end with thanks.  Thanks to all who help me create all my good posts, including this one, and to you — of course! — for being good enough to be here, now.

Day 1893: Up the wall

Yesterday, I was told to meet my physical therapist by following some feet on the floor. I followed those feet out of the waiting room, through a door, and past small and large treatment rooms, but  I wasn’t sure what to do when the feet went up the wall.

Not knowing where to go can send me up the wall and so can

  • cell phones,
  • injuries,
  • physical pain,
  • emotional pain,
  • injustice,
  • meanness,
  • thoughtlessness, and
  • people consistently misspelling my name.

What sends you up the wall? Does it send you up the wall that I haven’t defined my terms?

send someone up the wall

Fig. to annoy and irritate someone; to drive someone crazy. Don’t scratch your
fingers on the  blackboard. It sends me up the wall!
That noise sends me up the wall!

Do any of my photos from yesterday send you up the wall?

Personally, love and acceptance don’t send me up the wall. They  send me over the moon.

When working in high tech sent me up the wall in the 1980’s,  I would sometimes dance to this:

Please don’t write your comments up on the wall; instead, write them down below.

Over-the-moon thanks to all who helped me create this up-the-wall post and — of course! — to YOU.

Day 1760: Popular

According to the popular and unpopular press this morning, the unpopular U.S. President is increasingly popular with a segment of the populace.

According to my “likes” on WordPress, I’m becoming less popular with the  blogging populace.

How important is popular?

Here’s a popular definition of “popular”:

pop·u·lar
ˈpäpyələr
adjective
1. liked, admired, or enjoyed by many people or by a particular person or group.
“she was one of the most popular girls in the school”
synonyms: well liked, favored, sought-after, in demand, desired, wanted;
2. (of cultural activities or products) intended for or suited to the taste, understanding, or means of the general public rather than specialists or intellectuals.
“the popular press”
synonyms: nonspecialist, nontechnical, amateur, lay person’s, general, middle-of-the-road

Which of my photos from yesterday will be most popular with my readers?

Our newly cleaned couch and  the refinished dining room table are very popular with the cats. I’m hoping  that tolerance (discussed in yesterday’s therapy group) becomes more popular with the populace.

Here and here are two songs about being popular (and unpopular).

Popular thanks to all who helped me create today’s post and — of course! — to YOU.
