Day 3583: National Mole Day

Today, October 23, is National Mole Day in the USA.

What kind of mole would you guess is being recognized?

.

Have you made your guess? If not, I’ll wait.

Okay! Here’s the answer:

.

Even though Avagadro’s number is something I learned in high school Chemistry that I simply CANNOT FORGET (although I can easily forget almost any other number that exists), I still didn’t put it together that the date 10/23 was related to 10 to the 23rd.

I do not have 10 to the 23rd images to share with you on National Mole Day, but the number is somewhere between 10 and 23.

.

Here’s what I find when I search for “National Mole Day” on YouTube.

Thanks to all who are helping me celebrate National Mole Day, including YOU!

Day 3472: Alone in the presence of others

Years ago, inspired by the work of Dr. D. W. Winnicott and by my own experience, I made this t-shirt:

As I create this blog alone in presence of others, here are my images for today.

.

On National Mac & Cheese Day, I’ll be alone in the presence of others wearing these socks:

As always, I am grateful to be alone in the presence of YOU.

Day 3454: Belonging

As a group therapist and as a human being, I think a lot about belonging. Here’s a definition of belonging:

.

Now I be longing for a longer definition, so here’s a definition of “belong.”

From what I’m reading and experiencing, more people, here and now, are feeling like they do not belong in the USA because of a vocal minority gaining more power over the majority. It’s difficult belonging to a country where gun rights are protected more than human rights.

Do you see belonging in my images for today?

My sense of belonging is all about being with those I love, so happy National Beautician’s day to Mia, the beloved beautician for my friend Barbara (pictured above), my friend Deb, and me!

Here’s what I find on YouTube when I search for “belonging.”

I look forward to reading the comments, belonging below, about this belonging post.

Thanks to all belonging here, including YOU!

Day 3404: Favorites

Lately, I’ve been asking many questions about favorites on Twitter, including these:

A random thought about favorites: I haven’t had to worry about playing favorites with my children because I have only one child. Here’s one of my favorite photos of me and Aaron, taken years ago with Emo Philips, who was the opening act for Weird Al last night:

Do you see favorites in my other images for today?

There are so many National Days today that it’s difficult to pick a favorite. One of my favorite moments from Emo’s set last night was when he asked the crowd to help record a message wishing his friend Red, who is a jockey riding in the Kentucky Derby today, good luck. It was definitely my favorite use of a cell phone at the concert last night.

Here’s my favorite Weird Al song, in the style of Frank Zappa (who is also a favorite).

What’s your favorite part of this post? My favorite part is always the end, when I get to express my gratitude for all who help me blog every day, including YOU.
