Day 1718: Spend time with people you love

Yesterday, I found out that two people I love will be leaving earlier than I wish. I’m resolving to spend as much time as possible with them whenever we can.

I often think of this line from Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods:

Sometimes people leave you halfway through the wood

because that’s inevitable, isn’t it?  Here are other  lines from that song:

Hard to see the light now

Just don’t let it go.

Things will come out right now

We can make it so.

Here‘s that song performed by Bernadette Peters, whom I love:

Let’s spend time with the photos I took yesterday.

Krystle Campbell left us too soon. Again, I resolve to spend time with people I love.

As always, I appreciate spending time with people I love on WordPress. Thanks to all who helped me create this post and to you — of course! — for visiting, here and now.

Day 1673: Are we there yet?

Are we there yet?  Are we there at a place where we can finally

  • be accepting,
  • feel safe enough,
  • love ourselves,
  • love others,
  • be authentic, and
  • relax?

I was there yesterday, for moments.

“Are We There Yet?” is a great tune by Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays.

We’re here yet so we better make the best of it, because who knows where we’ll be tomorrow.

Are we there, yet,  at the end of today’s blog? We are, so thanks to all who help me bring these posts here and — of course! — to you, for being there.

Day 1465: Malware Where?

Yesterday morning, I asked the blogging question  Why Should I be Afraid?  Last night, right before I planned to go to sleep, I’m afraid I downloaded some malware from out there here onto my laptop.

Should I be afraid of malware?  I am, so I spent hours eradicating it here when I should have been asleep there on my pillow.

Malware was here, there, and everywhere. Today, I’m trying to feel safe enough here on this computer.

Likewise,  evil is here, there, and everywhere. Today, I’m trying to feel safe enough here on this earth.

I hear myself say, here and now,  that goodware and good people are also here, there, and everywhere. So  I believe I am safe enough here, in this moment.

Music is here, there and everywhere.

Malware is to share  but  — as Paul tells us there —  love is to share, also.

New photos where?  They’re there on my iPhone, here on my laptop, and now everywhere, shared on the internet.

Change you can wear is where?   As I’m writing this, it’s in my drawer.  Soon, I’ll be wearing it there to work.

Here’s hoping for comments  here, there, and everywhere.

My thanks to all the good people who helped me create this blog post and to all you good people are where?

Here.

Day 1136: More comfort zones

About a year ago, I was comfortable enough to write a post named “Comfort Zones.”

Yesterday, a therapy group at work  was comfortable enough to focus in on comfort zones. And I was enough in the zone to take all these photos:

Which of those photos zone more into comfort zones for you?

Every day, I’m moving into more comfort zones about

  • working,
  • playing,
  • singing,
  • writing,
  • speaking,
  • being comforted, and
  • comforting others

… by challenging AND inhabiting my comfort zones.

More comfortable thanks to all who helped me create this post and to you — of course! — for your comforting presence.

Day 1095: Safe Place

What makes a place safe, for you?

That was a topic of discussion in a therapy group, yesterday.

There were lots of ideas shared, in that group, about what makes a place safe enough. Here are some of them:

Even though it’s not perfect, my workplace is definitely safe enough for me these days:

Even when it snows, I feel safe enough in Boston.

Despite my many scary experiences in hospitals when I was a child, I feel safe enough in different hospitals, too.

I hope that last image (from Tufts Medical Center, where I get my medical care) is making this place safe enough for a  New Year’s Eve sing-along.

After three full years of blogging, WordPress is definitely a safe place for me. Thanks to all of you for making it so!
