Day 2608: Fun with Phobias, Part 5

I have no phobias about sharing these links for my previous “Fun with Phobias” posts:

Day 416: Fun with Phobias

Day 417: Fun with Phobias Part II

Day 496: Fun with Phobias (Part III*)

Day 1594: Fun with Phobias, Part 4

Yesterday, somebody expressed surprise about other people’s fears and phobias being different from theirs.  Because I don’t have Googlephobia, I searched for a list of phobias and took this photo:

Because I don’t have Facetime-o-phobia, later in the day I communicated with somebody who had Trypanophobia when he was young:

It’s a good thing that my son Aaron doesn’t have Kosmemophobia (fear of jewelry) because his mother’s earrings are HUGE.

I  don’t have pun-o-phobia, as you can see in this subsequent communication between Aaron and me:

Do you see any phobias in my other photos from yesterday?

When I was a kid, I had a fear of the dark.  My Phone, which keeps taking pictures like that last one,  seems to have no Achluphobia, Nyctophobia, or whatever you want to call it.

Even though Politocophobia is a real thing,  here’s a limerick about one of the  2020 Democratic candidates for President:

My choice at this moment is Pete
And it’s not only because he is neat.
At Harvard, the Navy, South Bend
He had many an appreciative friend,
Plus his deep thoughts won’t fit in a tweet.

Here’s “The Phobia Song” by Pushing Daisy.

Fear of comments is a thing,  but consider leaving one anyway.

Do you have fear of gratitude?  I hope not.

Day 1770: What are you afraid of?

What are you afraid of?

Within the last week, I’ve heard about people who are afraid of

  • the dark,
  • heights,
  •  war,
  • people who abuse positions of power,
  • the media,
  • molesters,
  • being seen as a molester,
  • the police,
  • world leaders,
  • science,
  • ignorance,
  • doctors,
  • dentists,
  • infections,
  • sickness,
  • aging
  • death,
  • taxes,
  • failure,
  • success,
  • school,
  • working too much,
  • working too little,
  • making mistakes,
  • driving,
  • bicyclists,
  • loss,
  • certain thoughts,
  • certain feelings,
  • feeling too good,
  • going outside,
  • staying inside,
  • action,
  • inaction,
  • the weather,
  • being alone,
  • crowds,
  • social events,
  • marriage,
  • divorce,
  • becoming less attractive,
  • becoming an adult,
  • men,
  • women,
  • cats,
  • dogs,
  • mice,
  • bugs,
  • snakes,
  • phones,
  • cotton balls, and
  • peaches.

Is anyone afraid of any of these photos?

I’m afraid that one major emotion is missing from that Time special edition cover.   Are they afraid of anger?

Here‘s how to let go of pain/fear/anger in 60 seconds.

Are you afraid of leaving a comment?  I hope not.

What am I afraid of?  Heights, the dark, the cold,  and forgetting to express gratitude to all who help me create these posts and — of course! — to YOU.

Day 1594: Fun with Phobias, Part 4

During my second year of blogging, I wrote three “Fun with Phobias” posts (here, here, and here). While phobias —  extreme or irrational fears or aversions — aren’t fun, I have fun making up names for my own personal fears, like tax-o-phobia, pill-o-phobia, spill-o-phobia, pack-o-phobia, and pantrymoth-o-phobia.

When I read over my previous “Fun with Phobias” posts, I was surprised to see what was missing (and by the way, miss-o-phobia was NOT missing).

Technophobia: The fear of (1) technology, (2) being left behind by accelerating changes to technology, (3) technology-related problems including viruses and confusing updates, and/or (4) technologically-adept people who make you feel stupid.

I had my latest attack of technophobia earlier this morning when I  downloaded a free version of Adobe Acrobat, decided that version was probably a scam, and deleted it.

Does anybody else out there suffer from technophobia?  Unless you have comment-o-phobia, please let me know, so I can feel less alone.

Let’s see if I took any fun or phobia-related photos yesterday.

I definitely have map-o-phobia (the fear of maps or map-related misunderstandings).

However, I obviously do not have aquaphobia (“a persistent and abnormal fear of water”), because I take so many water-related photos.

I hope you don’t have aquaphobia and can get relief from technophobia, map-o-phobia, or any other phobia with some water music.

Thankfully, I don’t have thank-o-phobia, so I can happily thank all who helped me create another fun-with-phobias post and you — of course! — for your fun visit, here and now.
