Day 2550: Happy Families on Christmas Eve

Tolstoy said,

IMG_0396.JPG

All happy families resemble one another, but each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.

Do all happy families resemble one another on Christmas Eve?  Let’s see …

I wonder if tiny tardigrades have families as happy as mine.

This photo …

… shows the father of Aaron, “my excellent ex” (on the left) and  my husband-to-be, Michael, both happy on Christmas Eve. That makes me very happy.

There are lots of videos on YouTube about “Happy Families on Christmas Eve.” I’m happy to share this one:

To all the families out there, I wish you happiness today and every day.

Finally, thank you SO MUCH for being part of my blogging family!!!!

Day 1924: Impossible

Some people feel it’s impossible to blog daily for over five years.  I believe it would have been impossible for me to face the world  as effectively as I have since January 1, 2013 without this blog.

Yesterday, I saw something impossible at a local restaurant.

Because it was possible for me to do so, I took that impossible flag with me. I guess I like taking on the impossible.

It’s very possible to find impossible quotes on the internet.

Start by doing what’s necessary; then do what’s possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible. — Francis of Assisi

There is nothing impossible to him who will try.  — Alexander the Great

Women, like men, should try to do the impossible. And when they fail, their failure should be a challenge to others.  — Amelia Earhart

Without knowing what I am and why am I here, life is impossible.  — Leo Tolstoy

It always seems impossible until it’s done.  — Nelson Mandela

Nothing is impossible. The word itself says ‘I’m possible!’ — Audrey Hepburn

Even if it turns out that time travel is impossible, it is important that we understand why it’s impossible  — Stephen Hawking

Have a vision.  It is the ability to see the invisible.  If you can see the invisible, you can achieve the impossible.  — Shiv Khera

It’s kind of fun to do the impossible.  — Walt Disney.

It’s kind of fun for me to share my impossible and possible photos here.

If it’s impossible for you to see the details in those photos, please click on any one to enlarge it.

After blogging for so many years, it’s impossible for me not to share photos of something I’ve shared before.

It’s impossible to say what goes on in that room at the Hingham Shipyard movie theater.

The impossibly talented Paul Simon sings “to dominate the impossible in your life” in The Rhythm of the Saints.

Unless it’s impossible, please share your thoughts and feelings in a comment below.

As always, it’s impossible for me to create this blog without the help of others, including YOU.

Day 1769: Perfect

Because I talk to people about letting go of the need to be perfect, I’m not surprised that I’ve written only one other post titled “Perfect.”

Because human beings are not perfect, I’m not surprised that my perfect temperature in that July 2016 post was temporary and between two hospitalizations.

Yesterday, I had a perfect INR of 3.1.

IMG_4700

I confess that I am NOT being perfect in preventing falls, because I

  • am not wearing my glasses while I’m typing this post,
  • do not keep my home perfectly clutter free,
  • am often walking and talking,
  • have texted while walking, and
  • do not bring my list of medicines to doctor visits.

I DO try not to get distracted.  However, I’m distracted enough by that list that I’m going to get my glasses.

I think my new glasses are perfect.

That’s probably temporary, too.

Let’s see if there are any perfect quotes about “Perfect.”

In nature, nothing is perfect and everything is perfect. Trees can be contorted, bent in weird ways, and they’re still beautiful. — Alice Walker

Beauty is truth’s smile when she beholds her own face in a perfect mirror. — Rabindranath Tagore

Instead of trying to make your life perfect, give yourself the freedom to make it an adventure, and go ever upward. — Drew Houston

An arrogant person considers himself perfect. This is the chief harm of arrogance. It interferes with a person’s main task in life — becoming a better person. — Leo Tolstoy

I never expect to see a perfect work from an imperfect man. — Alexander Hamilton

To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often. — Winston Churchill

Tell me I’m clever,

Tell me I’m kind,

Tell me I’m talented,

Tell me I’m cute,

Tell me I’m sensitive,

Grateful and wise,

Tell me I’m perfect —

But tell me the truth. — Shel Silverstein

To me, every hour of the day and night is an unspeakably perfect miracle. — Walt Whitman

Are any of these photos perfect?

While taking most of those photos yesterday, I was listening to Stevie Wonder’s “I Wish That I Could Come Back as a Flower,” which was perfect.

Any comments from you would be perfect.

Perfect thanks to all who helped me create today’s imperfect post and — of course! — to YOU.
