Day 3719: I am woman

I am woman and

• I pointed out in a group yesterday that that women were interrupted way more often than men,
• I have many wonderful women friends, including my life-long friend Barbara, whose birthday is today,
• I know that women often have trouble accepting their own anger and their own awesomeness,
• I’m very good at word games, and
• as usual, I’m sharing the Daily Bitch Calendar and other images with you today.

I am woman and I’m glad I’m writing this post on Girls Write Now Day, International (Working) Women’s Day, National Be Nasty Day, and UN Day for Women’s Rights & International Peace.

Day 3244: I love _____

I love asking people questions, so how would you fill in the blank of today’s title?

Last night, after a wonderful last day of a New York vacation, I said “I love New York” out loud as I was walking through Times Square.

I love looking on YouTube for relevant videos, so here’s an example of the “I Love New York” advertising campaign from the 1970s …

… and a 1978 version of the song from that campaign.

I love sharing my images with you in this daily blog, so here are many reasons I love New York

I love:

• the High Line walk,
• wonderful, talented people like Stephen Colbert and Jon Batiste,
• delicious French food at restaurants like La Rivage, and
• Twitter even when I’m on vacation.

I love people loving themselves more.

I love getting comments and I love ending each blog post with gratitude for YOU!

Day 3242: That was then, this is now

My son and I are in New York City now. The last time I was in New York City, in March 2020, I was attending a group therapy conference, which was the week before everything closed down here. Several of us attending that conference then, including me, got COVID.

That was then, this is now.

Last night, Aaron and I went to Junior’s, the restaurant I went to every day then, during the week-long March 2020 group therapy conference. After I discovered I had COVID, I texted my server Rhys (who I had put in my blog back then) …

… with concern, telling him I had COVID and wondering if he was okay. He was fine, but he and everybody else at Junior’s had been laid off then, as everything in NYC had closed down.

That was then …

… this is now.

When I was here in March 2020, I took photos of the Ed Sullivan Theatre then because I love Stephen Colbert.

That was then, this is now, when I have a ticket to see the Late Show with Stephen Colbert during this trip.

My TED talk about then and now might be titled “Everything Old Is New Again.” And there’s no way I’m checking my wipers now — my car is back in Boston because we took the train. And I never eat fast food, then or now, when I’m in New York City!
