Here are some quotes about Hell:

“The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who, in times of great moral crisis, maintain their neutrality.”
― Dante Alighieri

“An intelligent hell would be better than a stupid paradise.”

― Jean-Paul Sartre, No Exit“

“Hell isn’t other people. Hell is yourself.”

“I think hell is something you carry around with you. Not somewhere you go.”
― Neil Gaiman

Here are some quotes about Heaven:

“Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads.”
― Henry David Thoreau

“Earth’s crammed with heaven, And every common bush afire with God;
But only he who sees, takes off his shoes.”

Or what’s a heaven for?”

Here‘s a video of Eric Clapton first performing “Tears in Heaven”, which he wrote after the accidental death of his 4-year-old son Conor.

Please share your thoughts and feelings about hell and/or heaven in a comment, below.

Earthly gratitude to all who helped me create this “Hell and Heaven” post and to all who are reading it, including YOU.

Day 2474: All you need

All you need is …

… love.

All I need is

  • love,
  • kindness,
  • shelter,
  • peace,
  • the healing power of groups, and
  • the chance to pay my respects today to my late friend Hillel and to his family and friends.

All I need is my iPhone to take photos and to post this blog a few hours before my wonderful hostess Julie and I leave to drive to Hillel’s funeral in NYC.

All I need is that Connecticut Cat Nellie and a FaceTime call with Harley to help prepare me for the funeral today.

What’s all you need?

Is this music all you need?

All the love and thanks you need coming at you, here and now, from your grateful blogger.

Day 1996: When I make a mistake …

When I make a mistake ….

  • I feel bad.
  • I admit it.
  • I dwell on it.
  • I try to forgive myself.
  • I can experience guilt and shame.
  • I might wake up in the middle of the night.
  • I worry about lasting effects.
  • I sometimes call myself “stupid.”
  • I make reparations as best I can.
  • I learn something.
  • I move on to other things (including new mistakes).

What happens when you make a mistake?

Make no mistake, we all make mistakes.

When I take photos, I usually share them, mistakes and all.

When someone makes me a delicious meals, it would be a mistake not to eat it.

When I search YouTube for “When I make a mistake” I find this

this

… and this.

It would be a mistake not to express thanks to all who helped me make this post and — of course! — to YOU.

Ooops!  I made a mistake taking that photo, so here’s a better “thank you.”
