Day 2211: Hanging on for dear life

If you hang on until the end of this blog post, you’ll see the photo that inspired today’s post title.

I like the title “Hanging on for dear life” because I’ve been hanging on for almost sixty-six years and life is very dear to me.    I also like that title, here and now, because life can sometimes seem precarious, especially with global warming reports, the current political situation, the stresses inherent during the holiday (and exam) season, interpersonal conflicts, and a fire alarm going off during a group therapy session.

Hang on, dear readers!  Here are all my photos from yesterday:

Work, blogging, and important relationships keep me hanging on.

What keeps you hanging on?

Thanks to all who keep me hanging on, including you!

Day 1812: Not a fan

I am not a fan of

  • traffic,
  • filling out forms,
  • loud noises,
  • the cold,
  • the dark,
  • cages,
  • cubicles,
  • the new U.S. tax bill,
  • people who abuse power,
  • worry,
  • loneliness,
  • illness,
  • poverty,
  • war, and
  • harsh judgments.

I am a fan of

  • family,
  • friends,
  • cats,
  • chocolate,
  • cheese,
  • peace,
  • kindness,
  • comedy,
  • colors,
  • warmth,
  • light,
  • windows,
  • freedom,
  • walking,
  • blogging,
  • visiting old familiar places, and
  • sharing photos.

Are you not a fan of any of those photos?  Are you not a fan of this song by Ben Folds?

I am a fan of

  • comments (whether you are or are not a fan) and
  • expressing my thanks to all who help me create these posts and — of course! — to you.

Day 1804: I can’t look

“I can’t look” is what I say to myself, every day, about the news.

I can look at other things, though, so we can look at my latest photos.

I can’t look at that favorite necklace without regrets that a part of it fell off  this week when I wasn’t looking.

I can’t look outside because today is this season’s first snow day in Boston.

I can look at YouTube and find fun things like Tim Conway and Harvey Korman‘s Emmy Moments:

I can’t look at them without smiling.

I can’t look for comments on this post, because I haven’t published it yet. I’ll look for those later.

I can look for ways to express thanks to all who helped me create today’s blog and also to you, because you could look and did!
