Day 1622: Following directions

I admit that I have trouble following directions. When somebody tries to give me directions that are complicated, I stop listening and figure things out on my own.

Maybe I should be following directions I give others and ask for what I need. The next time I have trouble following somebody’s directions, I’ll direct them to slow down so I can take one step at a time.

Yesterday, as I was following directions during a group psychotherapy conference, I noticed these directions:

I remained calm while hearing the following directions during the group therapy conference:

  • Put your feelings into words.
  • Take interpersonal risks.
  • Let go of old, unhelpful scripts.
  • Connect with others.
  • Use the support that’s available.
  • Embrace the beautiful fiasco of being human.
  • If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito in the room.

Are any of the directions in this post worth following?

I am following directions at YouTube to share the following directions scene with you:

Please follow directions to leave a comment  below.

I am following my own directions for expressing appreciation, so thanks to all who helped me direct today’s post and to you — of course! — for following me here.
