Day 2862: All damn day

All damn day, for four years, I’ve been waiting for all damn U.S. leaders to stop damning our future.

All damn day feels like a long time when the world seems damned, especially when there’s an extra hour, like today.

All damn day I

  • obsessively check the news,
  • walk around,
  • stress eat,
  • think about people in pain,
  • wonder what my fellow Americans are thinking, and
  • prepare for my next blog post.

All damn day I’ve known what today’s blog title would be.

All damn day I capture images of what I see.

All damn day I look for moments of beauty, synchronicity, hope, and love.

All damn day I’ve been thinking about this beautiful song by Beautiful Chorus I heard during a No Impact Aerobics (NIA) class on Zoom.

All damn day I’ll be looking for inner peace and your comments.

All damn day I look for ways to express my gratitude to all who help me get through all damn days, including YOU!

Day 2861: What do you need?

Here and now, what do you need?

Do you need

  • comfort?
  • reassurance?
  • good news?
  • results?
  • money?
  • a drink?
  • love?
  • hope?
  • peace?
  • self esteem?
  • time for yourself?
  • social contact?
  • justice?
  • to know that you are not alone?

I need

  • to take a breath,
  • to be in the moment,
  • to be grateful for all I have, and
  • to do whatever I can to make this life better for myself and others.

I do NOT need to vote because I already have.

I need to share that ten years ago, on Halloween, I met my future husband, Michael. Michael needs no introduction to regular readers of this blog, but here’s a post I wrote about him four very long years ago.

I also need to share my latest photos with you.

If I’m being serious and honest, almost everybody I know needs therapy these days.

I also need to tell you that this …

… is my amazing son, Aaron, who is doing his last year at the University of Edinburgh from our basement here in the USA. Isn’t that a cool picture? Aaron and I both needed our winter coats last night because of the early snow.

I also need to tell you that even though my husband Michael needs his privacy and is camera shy, his presence is there in several of today’s photos.

I need to include a song about needs, so how about this one?

You don’t need to leave a comment, but it would be awesome if you did!

I need to thank everyone who helps me create a new blog post every day, including Michael, Aaron, Harley, the Beatles, the Daily Bitch Calendar, and YOU!

Day 2846: Scary pictures

During these pre-election times, many pundits are writing about scary scenarios, picturing uncertainty, upheaval, violence, and protracted legal battles after people cast their votes in the USA.

I hear from many people that they distract themselves, especially during this time of the year, by watching scary pictures, like the Halloween series.

Picturing scary election scenarios and watching scary pictures both make me shiver and quiver with too much fear, so I’m distracting myself by taking my own scary pictures. Which one is the scariest picture, to you?

The Daily Bitch calendar for today is scarily coincident with last night’s question for my Coping and Healing group.

Tonight, Michael will be taking pictures of my remote appearance on an Open Mic, which I hope won’t be too scary.

There are lots of “scary pictures” videos on YouTube. For scarily unknown reasons, I clicked on “Scary pictures with happy music pizza sound nature.”

I hope you don’t find pictures of gratitude scary, because I take a lot of those!

It’s also that time of year for cats (at least around here) and music (here , here, and here on YouTube):

It’s always that time of the year for gratitude, so thanks to all who help me create timely posts, including YOU.

Day 2122: Spooky

These days, many things seem spooky to me, especially politics.

Do you see anything spooky in my photos from yesterday?

Oops!  Who knew that Boston Cream Pie was spooky?

This song is spooky.

I look forward to spooky comments, below.

No matter how spooky things are, I can still find gratitude, so thanks to all who helped me create this spooky post and — Boo! — to YOU.

Day 1397: Playful Spirits

Greetings to all you playful spirits, who have spirited yourselves here to read my blog!

img_6144

This playful spirit saw that sign, yesterday, when she was on a playful and spirited trip to the Fresh Pond Mall with her spirited and playful boyfriend, Michael.

Speaking of Michael, before I met him, I was afraid of spirits. Indeed, as I  described in this spirited post from three years ago, I used to stay up all night when I was a playful child, listening for spirits and trying to protect my family from them.  Soon after I met Michael, I was doing laundry in the basement and became convinced that there were hostile spirits around me. I ran up the stairs and told Michael about it. Michael listened to my  spirited fears and then non-playfully replied:

“Ann. You do realize that there are no ghosts, right?”

The clear and simple spirit of Michael’s statement was enough to cure my fears.  Since then, I’ve had no fear of spirits, playful or otherwise.

I still won’t watch movies or listen to stories about malevolent spirits, however,  because sleep is very good for my spirit.

Here are all the other photos I took, yesterday, with a playful spirit:

Which of those photos show  the most playful spirit?

I playfully and spiritedly choose this YouTube video for today’s “Playful Spirits” post:

My playful spirit wishes to express spirited gratitude to all those spirits who helped me create today’s post and to you — of course! — for your spirited visit here, today. That makes me …
