Day 3483: National Thread The Needle Day

Today is National Thread The Needle Day! Here’s what the National Day Calendar website has to say about that:

Coincidentally, I recently threaded the needle to restore a ripped off tail to one of Joan’s favorite mouse toys.

I have to admit it took me a lot longer to literally thread the needle than in times past. I’m trying to metaphorically thread the needle between blaming this on my age or the tiny-holed needles in that sewing kit.

Thinking ahead to the mid-term elections, I hope my country can thread the needle between self-interest and justice for all. Otherwise, we’re all going to get stuck.

Should we thread the needle by finding a path through the rest of today’s post?

.

Thread the Needle” is also a song by Clarence Carter:

I’ll be threading the needle through traffic soon as I head downtown for my once-a-week in-person appearance at work.

Thanks to all who help me thread the needle every day, including YOU.

  1. Hope you have a good day at work today. I enjoyed your photos.

(You asked what we have changed our minds about… but I am afraid I don’t have a good answer to that right now.)

Threatening a needle involves a lot of patience

  3. When I was in high school there was a trend of wearing ripped jeans. I had some jeans that had ripped knees because I’d worn them out but, being a noncomformist, I took a needle and some really bright thread and sewed up the rips. I have to admit I haven’t changed my mind about certain fashion trends being pretty silly, though.

  4. Sometimes we get it right, Ann.

  5. I often feel as though I’m ‘threading the needle’ when commuting to work each day. so far, so good.

  6. I currently feel like I’m threading the needle between taking care of what I need for me (time, rest, self-care) and being available to a friend or two going through very difficult times, and needing the support of a friend. I’m threading kind of a dull needle, if I’m honest. 🤷‍♀️
