On November 22, 1963, I had my first heart operation, got my first cardiac pacemaker, and got a promise from my mother that I could get my first cat.
Two days later, while I was dealing with many physical and emotional wounds, I found out that President John F. Kennedy, whom I loved and admired, had been assassinated on November 22.
Since that day, November 22 has always been an important anniversary for me. Often, I get depressed and anxious, and I’m relieved when the day is over.
Today, I’m just grateful to be alive and well, 58 years later.
Here are my images for November 22, 2021:

.
On my walk yesterday, I was listening to the sounds of nature and the music from Hadestown, which I’m still hearing in my head, here and now, on November 22.
What are your thoughts and feelings about November 22?
Thanks to all who have helped me make it to this November 22, including YOU.

I’m glad you’re here
💕
I am so appreciative that your first Nov. 22 operation started your life off on this successful path you’ve shared so well with the world, Ann. Thank you for letting me be a part of your life.
I am so appreciative of you, my good friend!
and know how many, near and far, are glad you are alive, myself included. the world would be a different place without you.
I am so glad to be alive in a world with you in it, beth!
I am happy for you, your family, and for all of us who share your unique heartfelt thoughts. (and I have really enjoyed listening to Hadestown!)
I am really happy to know you, Peter!
I am glad that November 22nd gives us an annual opportunity to remember how glad we are that you are in the world, and how fortunate we are that medical science made that possible back when you were only 10.
Why do people love cats? We are meant to.
We are meant to love each other, Maureen!
I appreciate how you feel, Ann about sad anniversaries. I guess we can only look ahead.
I appreciate your empathy.

Thank you, Tania!
Those ocean landscapes have an eerie feel to them, but in a good way. The ones at the pier are also very moody and lyrical. Joan is very majestic!
‘Eerie’ can also mean mysterious and enigmatic, probably should’t have used that word.
All your words are wonderful, Maria.
I’ve probably mentioned before that C.S. Lewis and Aldous Huxley also died on November 22nd, 1963, but the fact that it would be a day that would literally be a whole new beginning for you, as well as many cats, is a great example of how things balance out.
Thank you for another beautifully balanced comment, my friend.
What an anniversary to share
I’m grateful to share it with you, Derrick.
I can only imagine what emotions rise up each year on such an auspices date, Ann. That you are in good, strong health today is really a wonderful way to celebrate each year, and I send my love. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your dear clan.
Thank you for this wonderful comment, my dear friend.
