Yesterday, when I was dwelling on Donald Trump, Donald Trump’s supporters, and angry people, I found this quote by Oprah Winfrey:
Oh no! Oprah knows for sure that I will become Donald Trump, a Donald Trump supporter, and/or an angry person unless I dwell on something else. Luckily, there are many other things to dwell on in my other photos from yesterday.
Uh-oh. Now I’m dwelling on the fact that we just lost our internet connection. Also, it’s taking forever for me to upload any more photos that are dwelling on my phone by using cellular data.
Now I’m dwelling on the possibility that if Donald Trump, Donald Trump supporters, and angry people want to take over my country with a coup, knocking out the internet of people dwelling in liberal parts of the USA is probably a great way to do that.
Now I’m dwelling on this: a coup in the USA is highly unlikely. Also, the photo I am trying to upload in this precious moment says “Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow; it empties today of its strength.”
Rather than dwelling on worry, I choose to dwell on
- hope,
- quotes from wise people,
- people I love,
- people I trust,
- cats,
- dogs,
- the ocean,
- things that make me think,
- things that make me feel,
- things that make me laugh,
- delicious nutritious food,
- my health and the health of others,
- staying safe,
- music, and
- taking a walk on a beautiful morning.
Therefore, I am going to take a masked walk on this beautiful morning after sharing this one other photo which uploaded successfully:
Dwell on this: In 2019 I bet people cookies that Donald Trump would not win re-election. That box of Mallomars is part of my winnings, with more cookies on the way.
Because it helps me to dwell on music, I’m going to search YouTube for music that dwells there, as I peacefully accept that I can always share my other temporarily unload-able photos tomorrow.
Strangely enough, when I search YouTube for “what we dwell on”, I find another Game of Thrones video.
Now I’m dwelling on synchronicity and gratitude for all who help me dwell on blogging every day, including YOU!
May the right people move into their positions, Ann.
Thank you for moving into this position, my friend.
The world will no longer feel compelled to dwell on the 45th President
It will be nice to dwell elsewhere, my friend.
I don’t think you have to worry about a right-wing conspiracy to shut down the internet in Boston, because Google and Amazon and most of the tech industry workers who are responsible for trouble-shooting service outages and managing online traffic, are more inclined to be Democrats. I am not sure which political stripe Mallomar cookie fans are, though. I’ve never had one.
Enjoy your sweet winnings. 🙂
I always enjoy your sweet comments, Maureen.
Oh, dear. That reminds me of the Nietsche quote about the abyss–can’t be sure I’ve got it verbatim, but “He who fights with monsters must be careful lest he thereby become a monster, and if thoughtcrimes gaze long into the abyss, the abyss will also gaze into thee.” Wowzers. Oprah’s much simpler.
I like “thoughtcrimes” sooo much, but I think the original is “thou”. Thanks for the wowzer comment.
Hi Ann, I really had to search for you today – why do you keep disappearing? I think we should look forward, enjoy the weather, the colors of the leaves, the fact that our grass is turning green again (over here in Californa), blue skies and mountains, fresh air. Everything will be okay – and you know why Ann, because I found you again. Today is going to be a good day. And today is Veteran’s Day – I hope everyone takes their focus off of the election for just a moment), and quietly ponders about all the men and women that have served this country. Have a lovely day Ann – see you tomorrow!
I love dwelling on your lovely comments, SD.
Thanks Ann!!
And I think I mis-spelled Nietzsche. Gaaah. It’s been years.
Lisa, I also know about Nietzsche’s quote and find Oprah’s much simpler.
I am dwelling on how wonderful you are.
Yes. It’s likely the language of the time that makes it clearer to us.
A time to be grateful for our freedoms fought for and protected by our service men and women. All this other debris will blow away as time unfolds. I hope we all strive to make the most of each day and to celebrate our freedoms and right to choose. Thank you Veterans!
Thank you for dwelling on the veterans, my friend !
It’s Vererans Day. Did Trump place a wreath at Arlington, or is he too absorbed with his losing self?
I meant to write Veterans Day
I always appreciate what you dwell on.
I’m dwelling on the Mallomars. You are what you eat, maybe? Then Oprah would be bread. If I’ve learned anything about Oprah, lo these many years, it’s that she loves bread.
I’m dwelling on your delicious nutritious comment, Allison.
I may be sticking my neck out, Ann, but I have been and am a supporter of President Trump. I have my reasons which i feel not necessary to explain for often as it regards him, no explanation is sufficient. Yet, does that then place me in the category among monsters? The sun rose and fell on us all this day, regardless of our consciences.
-Alan
I do not put you in the category among monsters, Alan, and I am always grateful when you dwell together with me in this blog. ❤
There remains an ember burning of goodwill in our hearts that no political view can extinguish.
-Alan
Like Allison I find myself dwelling on the Mallomars. And dwelling on the end of When Harry Met Sally, when Harry, alone in his apartment, thinks to himself, “You’ve got Mallomars, the greatest cookie of all time.” And a Simpsons episode in which Ned Flanders breaks down and yells at Chief Wiggum, “The only case you ever got to the bottom of WAS A CASE OF MALLOMARS!”
It’s probably a good thing I don’t have any Mallomars here at the moment. Not only am I dwelling on them but you are what you eat.
You always give us a lot of sweet substance to dwell on, Chris, and I’m working on getting to the bottom of this whole Mallomar thing.
I can’t get over dwelling on that package of cookies and I’m also dwelling on new beginnings and what’s ahead on the horizon, I see a bit of light –
I can’t get over how you dwell in optimism and hope, beth.

I am dwelling on this lovely poem, Maria. Thank you !
I am trying to dwell on the fact that good eventually triumphs over evil, though sometimes it takes longer than we’d like, and I’m also trying to dwell on the fact that I have many bright spots and good friends in my life. This blog is definitely a ray of sunshine in the darkness, Ann…..
I’m dwelling on the light you bring here, Lori.
What wonderfully affirming words, Ann. If I can stay away from the news, as much as possible right now, then I’m dwelling on better things!
I love dwelling on better things with you, Debra !
