During these pre-election times, many pundits are writing about scary scenarios, picturing uncertainty, upheaval, violence, and protracted legal battles after people cast their votes in the USA.
I hear from many people that they distract themselves, especially during this time of the year, by watching scary pictures, like the Halloween series.
Picturing scary election scenarios and watching scary pictures both make me shiver and quiver with too much fear, so I’m distracting myself by taking my own scary pictures. Which one is the scariest picture, to you?

The Daily Bitch calendar for today is scarily coincident with last night’s question for my Coping and Healing group.
Tonight, Michael will be taking pictures of my remote appearance on an Open Mic, which I hope won’t be too scary.
There are lots of “scary pictures” videos on YouTube. For scarily unknown reasons, I clicked on “Scary pictures with happy music pizza sound nature.”
I hope you don’t find pictures of gratitude scary, because I take a lot of those!

Onward we must go, Ann.
We must, Mark, even when it’s scary.
When I was young I hated scary movies but now I enjoy them. They’re a welcome respite from a reality that can be scarier than anything we imagine.
Reality is pretty scary these days, my friend, and I always enjoy your comments.
I wish you well tonight, Ann
Thank you!
I am trying to decide whether to repair the crumbling plaster under our living room window before painting it. I just cut into it and a whole pile of plaster fell off the lathe into the floor. Now, that’s scary!
That IS scary, Maureen, and, as always, thanks for your courage.
i love the scary in a beautiful mystical way of the first picture. i know not to be scared for you to be a star in open mic night because i’ve seen you perform for an audience before and you were great. i get scared when i watch scary movies and it’s scary for those who watch them with me because i have startle response, so i don’t watch them and we’re all happy .
I love your responses, beth.
I used to enjoy scary movies, then something snapped. “Why am I inviting this ugliness into my life?” I couldn’t answer the question satisfactorily, and horror films no longer attract me.
I can relate, Doug!
I, too, find your first image the scariest, Ann. Can feel the unrest in the air. I don’t like scary movies AT ALL. I don’t want to invite the tension and anxiety they provoke into my life. I would rather escape through the beauty of nature, so going sea kayaking in the mangrove swamps today. ☺️
I’m finding a beautiful escape, my friend, imagining you sea kayaking in mangrove swamps.
A scary picture can be a motion blur
It can be!
