Day 2784: Antidepressants

As a clinical social worker, I cannot prescribe antidepressants, so I talk to people about other types of antidepressants, which I like to call “personal medicine.”

Do you see any antidepressants here?

For me, all those images are antidepressants, including that homemade, well-worn window sign that says “THANK YOU HEALTH CARE WORKERS.”

What are your antidepressants, these days?

Music is  an antidepressant for many.   Here are Blood, Sweat & Tears performing “Manic Depression” in 1980:

Comments are also antidepressants for me, so I look forward to taking that personal medicine later today.

As always, gratitude is an antidepressant, so thanks to all (including YOU) who help me combat depression with this daily blog!

  2. Amazing post!!

  3. Reading posts from you and our shared friends Beth and Colleen as well as a few selected others in our WordPress world every morning gets my days off to a less depressing start, Ann.

  4. I’ve found being outside is an anti-depressant, even if it’s just the same yard I see every day, and of course visiting your blog every day which is always different.

    • You and your blog are important anti-depressants for me, Chris. I take them without any fear of adverse side effects.

  5. i love the dinos at the top, mine are the woods, the water, human connections, words, music, art, animals, whimsy, and learning. always learning.

I think sense of humor, music and good company are good antidepressants. Did The VP to be really email you? Wow, what an honor. Sadly, all politicians demand money even if they can afford it themselves.

    • She texted me and I agree with your assessment of good antidepressants!

Thanks, Ann. I ‘m still building up the courage to put the elliptical bike together- for some reason all those nuts and bolts intimidate me

  8. Fun song!

  9. Isn’t that reflection by that small light amazing? It spreads light so far.
Blueberries are an antidepressant for me at this time of year. Also, fresh herbs from the garden.

  10. Your blog is an antidepressant for me, my dear friend! ♡ฅ(ᐤˊ꒳ฅˋᐤ♪)
