Day 2758: This feels relevant for me

Yesterday, my friend Megan texted me something that feels relevant for both of us…

… so “This feels relevant for me” is the title of this post.

.

All these photos feel relevant for me.

This feels relevant for me:  our beloved kitty Oscar is approaching the end of his life.  The reason Megan’s family has a cat today is because Oscar visited with her and her husband Paul many years ago and, with his relevant charming and chill nature, convinced skeptical Paul that cats could be incredibly wonderful.

As I’m writing this-feels-relevant-for-me blog post, Oscar is crying over his water bowl and I’m crying with anticipatory grief.

I heard the Stephen Sondheim song  “I Remember” from Evening Primrose yesterday while I was taking relevant photos, and this feels relevant for me.

I remember the late U.S. Congressman John Lewis, whom we lost on July 17.  His fight for civil rights and against racism feels relevant for all of us.

Gratitude feels relevant for me, every day.

  1. it’s the little things that hold the biggest relevance, like Oscar.

Oh, Ann. My heart broke to read that Oscar was crying over his water bowl. I send love to both of you. Please whisper to him that he has a friend and a fan on the other side of the continent, that he has given me much happiness and comfort over the years and that I will not forget him. Tell him thank you.

    Thank you. (Hug)

  3. It’s relevant that you are sharing the last days with Oscar. There is so many Opportunities to look at things from all sides. Yes, we’ll miss the gracious Oscar, but how happy he will be to be free of a body that doesn’t serve him anymore.
It hurts to lose a companion, human or animal. To have known and loved them makes our lives richer. I’m sorry you’re going through this sad time.

Since we are individually all one in this blog group, what is relevant to you, is relevant to all .

  5. Ann I am so sorry that you are losing Oscar. I know how sad those last days with a pet are. Wishing you peace and comfort.

  6. Sorry to hear about Oscar
What is relevant can change from person to person just saying

  7. We had a cat who lived to be sixteen. Late in his life he would sometimes stand over his food and look up at me while I was washing dishes. A little water would splash on him and I’d wonder if he were mad at me. I think he was really tired. I’m not sure how this is relevant but I think there must be special communication between cats and those who love them.

  8. Hmm…I don’t know why I can’t post a comment last night. Maybe WP thinks it’s not relevant for me. Sending you and Oscar big hugs, ༼ つ ◕o◕ ༽つ༼ つ ◕o◕ ༽つ༼ つ ◕o◕ ༽つ༼ つ ◕o◕ ༽つ༼ つ ◕o◕ ༽つ

  9. Oh, Ann. Oscar has been my relevant daily friend for all these blog-reading years. You all have my tears, too.
