Day 2673: Messages of Encouragement

Thank you, dear readers, for all the messages of encouragement you’ve given me for my blog posts, my photos, my original songs,  my work, my sense of humor,  and my various adventures, through sickness and in health.

The messages of encouragement people left about yesterday’s post, featuring my t-shirt and song “Left the House Before I Felt Ready” were incredibly profound. I am now thinking about ways I might market my t-shirt and song, encouraging people to share those messages and also support a worthy charity.

My long-time and encouraging reader Maureen (a/k/a Sitting on my own Sofa) left this message about my “I Left the House Before I Felt Ready” song …

I think that you also stayed at home before you felt ready. 😊

… which encouraged me to write this additional verse:

I stayed at home before I felt ready.

The virus has made us all scared and unsteady.

I caught it in March and then flattened the curve

Even though isolating gets on my last nerve.

To protect other people and save my own heart

Staying home before ready was just doing my part.

I encourage you to listen to “I Left the House Before I Felt Ready,” imagining those new messages at the end:

I am now encouraged to start writing songs again, ignoring and otherwise overcoming any messages of discouragement from myself or others.

Do you see any messages of encouragement in the images I captured yesterday?

If you want to see the messages in any of those smaller pictures, I encourage you to click on them to expand.

Messages of encouragement and gratitude to YOU, here and now.

Your masks make you look like juggalos!

Just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your newsletter. I look forward to it every day.

Glad you and your beau are all better and doing well.

    • It is such an incredible message of encouragement that one of my theatrical heroes — the incredible Joe Janes! — reads and appreciates this blog.

Joe, I didn’t know what a juggalo was and this was the message I received when I looked it up:

Juggalo: A greasy, fat, teenager with a kool aid mustache and no friends who listens to songs about clowns in his step mother’s double wide mobile home when he isn’t hanging out at the mall food court.

Thanks for seeing the teenager in us!! ❤

  3. Thank you for your daily message of encouragement. ♥(ˆ⌣ˆԅ)

  4. I’m encouraged by those beautiful flowers blooming! Are facemasks really required by law where you are?

    • Things are changing every day, but facemasks are definitely required in certain places (like CVS drugstores). I am encouraged by your comments!

  5. Awwww, thank you, Ann! I feel so touched and honoured, just as if I did leave the house feeling ready and met up with you.

I hope you have a wonderful day.

  6. i always enjoy your news and questions, things to ponder and be grateful for. glad you are encouraged about your song and tee, we never know where this crazy universe will lead us, and it’s important for all of us to stay open to all the possibilities. i am encouraged the biden sign, your fashion-forward face masks, and your chocolate connection.

  7. I see definite signs of encouragement in the spring flowers and other signs of change, and also in Maureen’s new words to your song which fit perfectly. As long as people work together I see that as something encouraging.

  8. Barb C. BI

Great pictures and words of encouragement from you. I am so blessed!!

  9. Many need words of encouragement at this trying times, even me………

  10. I like that little tree with its nice shape. Or maybe it”s a big bush. I had to look up juggalo and think you found a very mean definition. I found this: A juggalo (feminine juggalette, or juggala in Spanish) is a fan of the group Insane Clown Posse or any other Psychopathic Records hip hop group. Juggalos have developed their own idioms, slang, and characteristics. And once I saw the pictures of them, I realized just what the person meant. I like the face masks and I like your blog. Keep on writing.

  11. Bravo to all you accomplish, ready or not, Ann.
