It’s that time of the year for
- dressing up,
- holidays,
- traditions,
- changes,
- anniversaries,
- anxiety,
- comfort food,
- selfies,
- memories,
- celebrations,
- communication,
- complications,
- simplicity,
- faith,
- love,
- forgiveness,
- self-care,
- accepting all your feelings,
- balancing your needs with other people’s needs, and
- sharing photos.
It’s also that time of year for cats (at least around here) and music (here , here, and here on YouTube):
It’s always that time of the year for gratitude, so thanks to all who help me create timely posts, including YOU.
Is “Happy Anniversary” in order?
Yes! Michael and I first met 9 years ago on Halloween. Thanks, Derrick.

With apologies to Gilbert and Sullivan, although most especially Gilbert…
Nine years ago on a Halloween
Ann met Michael and they became a team.
They worked well together and soon those two
Were joined by Harley, Oscar, and Aaron too.
He did the cooking, she the therapy,
And now they’re having their anniversary!
I couldn’t resist getting topsy-turvy.
There’s always time for your wonderful words, Chris!
Thank you for that Tina Turner song — lovely.
And thank you for giving me pause to think about why I’m not fond of Halloween! LOL — I love memories surfacing that no longer need to be buried beneath the dust of a past that does not serve me well in the here and now.
Much gratitude.
It’s that time of the year when I’m confused about the music I’m sharing, Louise, and thank you for this lovely comment!
It’s that time of year to wish you Happy Anniversary, and for cats to wink knowingly!
Thanks for taking the time to be such a thoughtful and cool cat, Peter!

You must have had a great time, from the looks of it, Ann.
It’s that time of the year, Mark, to have a great time. Thanks for sharing it!
I wonder if meeting Michael on Halloween is a story, too? If not something too out of the ordinary, you both need to creatively concoct one. It is definitely a self-care time of year. I took that one from your list and made it mine. 🙂
It’s all out of the ordinary, Debra, and so are your extraordinarily kind comments.
