Yesterday, at a better hospital in Boston, I noticed this:
When things seem to be getting worse, it helps to believe that it gets better.
It gets better when we …
- welcome each other,
- introduce ourselves with love,
- throw kindness around like confetti,
- commit to accountability, communication, respect, innovation, and teamwork,
- accept and express appreciation,
- accept all our feelings,
- stop self-defeating thoughts and behaviors,
- show our strengths and our vulnerabilities,
- inspire and become inspired,
- see beyond,
- transform tomorrow while also honoring the past,
- accept ourselves exactly the way we are,
- realize we have options of different ways to respond,
- set healthy boundaries,
- eat healthy food,
- and realize that we are loved.
It gets better with music like “It Gets Better” (by Broadway Sings for The Trevor Project):
It gets better with gratitude, so thanks to all who helped me create this “it gets better” post and — of course! — to YOU.
Your Blog is another one that get’s better everyday!
Every time you comment, my day gets better!
It gets better when one ultimately shuts up.
I decided to have a nap. And you know what? Things did get better!
Sorry, Maria, I didn’t mean to make that a reply to your comment. Slip of the fingers!
Your comments get better all the time! ❤ ❤
it gets better when we understand we have the power to make it better
How you use your power makes things better, beth.
it’s all about the how we use it
You are a superhero, Ann Ka-plow! It doesn’t have to get any better than that. You have inspired me to think of a positive solution to a stressful problem. Thank you
I takes one superhero to know another one, Maureen! Thanks for making it better for me, every time you appear.
Today is great, tomorrow will be awesome, Ann.
You make it awesome, Mark!
It might get better if I wear a cape.
With or without a cape, Lisa, you’re a superhero.
Bravoooo Ann!!!
Thaaaaank yoooouuu for making it better!
Sometimes we need to remember that things get better
We better remember that, Joanne.
I remember when the It Gets Better project started, and what a great idea it was: adults reassuring young people that the future would be better. When I look at Dylan Morang’s art I feel like he’s one of many young people assuring adults the future will be better.
You’re one of the best people assuring me that the future will be better, Chris.
I love everything about this post, Ann. I took a nice long drink of positivity! Thank you!
I love everything about you, Debra!
