Day 2107: Insanely calm

In the midst of insanely upsetting local and global news, it might seem insane to be calm.

Nevertheless, that is my goal: to remain insanely calm.

Taking photos helps me stay insanely calm.

I wonder what the best solution for Person Anxiety is. In other words,  what helps you be insanely calm?

Here are the rest of my insanely calm photos for today:

Tea helps me be insanely calm and so do sayings like “Experience will give you the power and confidence to be you” even when my photos are insanely unfocused.

I was drinking delicious and calming Yogi tea last night while Michael and I watched The Phantom Thread, which — now that I calmly think about it — featured people being insanely calm.

Here is some insanely calm music from The Phantom Thread, by Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead:

I look forward to insanely calm comments from my insanely loyal readers.

Finally, some insanely calm gratitude for all who helped me create this insanely calm post and — OF COURSE — for you.

  1. I think the only time I’m insanely calm is when I’m asleep. I’m pretty grumpy when I wake up, but that first morning cuppa has a soothing and calming effect, so maybe that’s my insanity calming liquid.

  2. I’ve heard people say that weighted blankets are good for anxiety–kind of like that cat vest thing you showed!

    • Thanks for your insanely calming comment. I’ve heard people say that weighted blankets feel like hugs. Hugs to you!

  3. Traditionally part of my remaining calm is not listening to the news, but perhaps that is denying myself the “experience to give myself the power and confidence to be me” -Thank you.

  4. I don’t think it sounds insane! I think you will be part of the calm we will all need to tap into to get through this . . .

  5. My insanely calm comes from Lexapro and being amongst my flowers. They work in tandem to find my balance.

  6. Akira Kurosawa said, “In a mad world only the mad are sane.” So remaining calm as things get crazier just might be the best way to survive.

  7. Those music choices are absolutely delightful to this crazy calm person!

  8. You’ve offered two of my particular “go-to’s” when I need calm! Nature and music! I had a very brief (don’t want to be dramatic) health “scare” last week…all is fine, but in the middle of it as anxiety grew, I realized that I MUST take a few steps back from the poisonous overconsumption of political news. I have to wonder what we’re doing to ourselves with the stress and strain of everything we hear. I don’t even have to be experiencing what’s most distasteful to me, but just hearing about it affects me. I’d like to work this week at being insanely calm! I love that phrase!!

  9. Calm is the perfect antidote for insanity. May we all find balance in this insane world 😟

  10. Perhaps it is insane to remain calm in today’s world – however, I do – mostly

  11. Your photos help me in the morning as well, Ann.

  12. I’m instantly calmed after reading this.ฅ(≚ᄌ≚)
