It’s been over five years since I’ve written a post about priorities, and writing another one is my priority today.
With the overwhelming amount of information and responsibilities that many of us have, setting priorities can be difficult.
For example, what are the priorities among all the headlines in my Google news feed? Let’s see.

I assume that, depending upon your priorities, your Google news feed might be prioritized differently.
My priorities, here and now, include letting you know that
- The news item of the highest priority for me appears eighth from the bottom of that list and
- Another personal top-priority news item (today’s special election in Ohio) doesn’t even show up in my Google news feed.

Obviously, my priorities today didn’t include repositioning any of those photos. However, my priorities always include thanking all who help me create these posts and — of course! — YOU!

Perhaps I shouldn’t think too much about what it says about my priorities that I think Steve McQueen couldn’t possibly have made a 2019 car famous. I’m reminded, though, that as a film star McQueen quietly did charitable work for the Boys Republic reformatory school where he spent time as a teenager. He never publicized what he did, and I believe the extent of his charity only came out after his death.
Also the August 1, 2018 issue of The New York Times magazine is devoted entirely to the article “Losing Earth: The Decade We Almost Stopped Climate Change”, about how scientist first really tried to warn the world about climate change in 1979, but were ignored because politicians had other priorities.
