Day 2008: I’d rather be _________

How would you complete today’s blog title? Charlotte Beers  — “one of the few females to run a major ad agency’ —  has completed that sentence like so:

As one of the females to run a minor ad agency, I like to complete that sentence with whatever I am doing, in the moment.  Therefore, right now, I’d rather be blogging.  When I am facilitating groups, I sometimes tell the group members “There is nothing I’d rather be doing than this.”

As of today, July 1, 2018, I’d rather be president of the Northeastern Society for Group Psychotherapy.

Right now, I’d rather be sharing all these photos I took yesterday:

Now I’d rather be introducing you to Ray Blair …

… who was selling Yamaha pianos at a South Shore mall yesterday. Ray used to be the Dean of a local college; now he’d rather be sharing his passion for music.  Yesterday we both shared our original music with each other.

Now, I’d rather be re-sharing my first original song here at WordPress:

Finally, I’d rather be expressing thanks to all who helped me create today’s blog post and — of course! — to YOU.

  1. I always read your posts….. You’re blogs are always interesting…. Please, “Together We Can Help”

  2. I’d rather be watching rugby than football

  3. I’d rather be quite glad that our central air is working well this weekend so I can stay inside and stay on my recliner reading good blogs, Ann. Knock on wood.

  4. I hope you enjoy The Tatooed Potato, and you’ve reminded me of Filk, which is music with a science fiction or fantasy theme. Depending on whom you ask it parodies existing songs or uses new melodies or both, and can also be a verb—“to filk”. A friend of mine caused some classroom consternation with a button that said “I’d rather be filking.” It became a learning experience which is great because I’d always rather be learning.

  5. What an interesting assortment of photos today. And, your song! I enjoyed that and look forward to your recordings of your other original songs. (May there be many more.) Are you purchasing a piano so that you can accompany yourself?

    • I’d rather be playing the piano I’ve had from childhood, Maureen, which moved with us to our new home. I always enjoy your comments (may there be many more).

    • I’m realizing that since I wrote this post, Maureen, I’ve started writing a new song entitled “I’d Rather Be ….” Stay tuned!
