Day 1904: How to Survive Anything

After surviving another day yesterday, I noticed this magazine at our local supermarket.

I didn’t buy that, probably because I don’t believe I can survive anything. Eventually, something is going to get me.

In the meantime, I wish there was a survival magazine for penguins …

who are doing fine in the supermarket but are struggling to survive in the wild (seeย here for more about penguin survival).

If you were going to write something titled “How to Survive Anything,” what might you include?ย  I would include

  • seeing great movies,

  • doing things with those you love,

  • taking bathroom breaks,
  • learning from those around me (including cats),

  • eating cake,

  • having all my feelings (including getting pissy sometimes),
  • looking forward to spring,

  • touching and feeling,
  • feeling better and cheering up,

  • letting go of worry,

  • puns,

  • good food,

  • kindness, and
  • gratitude to all, including YOU.

  1. May the next snow go to sea, Ann, so spring has a chance to survive its calendar start.

    • I think we’ll survive that storm tomorrow, no matter where it lands. Your good wishes are good for my survival, Mark.

  2. I survived St Patrick’s Day celebrations and the next day and the day after that ๐Ÿ˜Ž

  3. So lovely to be back online and to find you here as part of my daily survival kit.

Now.. if we could just survive Snowmageddon here at the foot of the Rockies, all will be well! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. One additional movie quote should be up there: “And Donald Sutherland as the clumsy waiter.”
After all there are few movies that are better at teaching us how to survive anything than Samuel L. Bronkowitz’s That’s Armageddon.

  5. Love those quotations!

  6. I love those quotes & pics. Glad you are surviving. Thanks for helping the rest of us to do the same. (((Penguins)))

  7. As long as I can dance to Gloria Gaynor, I will survive. Thanks Ann ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿป

  8. Love you, Ann โค๏ธ

  9. If surviving involves running, I am dead
If surviving involves hiding in a small place, I am dead

  10. You have an excellent philosophy on survival and you know more about it than many others
