Last night, in a therapy group, somebody kept saying, “I don’t know what to do.”
I suggested that people write down “I don’t know what to do” and then express thoughts and feelings about that.
I wrote a poem titled “I don’t know what to do” but I didn’t take a picture of it, so now I don’t know what to do.
I know what to do. I’ll show you the photos I did take yesterday.
That’s my friend and co-worker Megan, who is leaving soon. I don’t know what to do without her.
Here are some things to do when you don’t know what to do.
- Speak up.
- Find your purpose.
- Listen to music.
- Express gratitude for all you have and all who support you, every day.
Great pictures,
I like the last one most.I love that word.We should use it more often 🙂
Thank you
Thank you for another great comment.
I’ve been half way through a poem, for few days, and “I don’t know what to do” to finish it off
You’ll know what to do, eventually.
Oh my goodness – I know exactly what to do! I must share that White Stripes version of I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself with the choir I sing with. This is one of our popular songs and I think they would love to hear this version. Thank you fir sharing it – I love the quirkiness!
I know I want to sing with a chorus but I have too many other things to do these days! Thanks for sharing, Gilly.
Please keep sharing whatever you do, Ann. It’s always full of fun and intrigue.
I’ll keep sharing if you keep sharing too, Mark.
Lots of times I don’t know what to do. It’s not such a big deal now that I’m retired. When I don’t know what to do now I just take a nap. Seems to work out for me.
It seems like you know exactly what to do, Dawn!
I’m learning to let go of what I think i need to do about a lot of stuff. Sometimes I just need to let some things work out the way they will, Ann. ♡
Diana xo
Yep, I’m with Diana on this one. Sometimes, we just have to let go of the idea that we have control. We so often do not.
I love what you both did in these comments! ❤ ❤ xxxxoooo
Sometimes the most fun I’ve had in my life was when I didn’t know what to do. Ever tried improv comedy? It’s really fun and creative!
Trying improv comedy is top on my list of what to do! Many thanks for this fun comment.
My favourite question behind the question (QBQ) for that one is… if you did know what would you do? 🙂
I don’t know what I’d do without your questions and answers, Louise.
I don’t know how to respond other than to say I love your blog!
I don’t know what to do other than to say I love your comments!
I’m sorry you didn’t save your own poem, but here’s another:
Sometimes when you don’t know what to do
It’s because you have too many choices.
It’s very difficult to sort through
All their individual voices.
But if you listen to the views
Of each one by itself
You can sort out which ones to choose
And which ones to put back on the shelf.
I don’t know what I’d do without your voice and views, Chris.
I say that phrase near daily. Sometimes the solution comes, but letting go when you don’t have an answer is tough.
I know what to do now: thank you for this helpful comment.
Thank you. Now I know what to do
Me too. Thank YOU, Maureen.
I love eclecticism and this is the most interesting (and most times fun!) place to find it! Finding connections between disparate things opens the mind, helps sharpen how one deals with uppercase L “Life”, eh?! Or, if nothing else, broadens one’s appreciation for how deep and broad life’s experiences can be.
I love your comments! I don’t know what I’d do without them.
Listening to music … or rolling out my yoga mat is what I do when I dont know what to do. Unless there is a furry animal around or an open armed partner…. then I know that what I have to do is give them a hug. Hugs to you Ann 💕
I know what to do with hugs, Val — hug back! ❤
