Day 1671: Rules of Living

As I was living my life yesterday, I took a picture of the 18 Rules of Living by the Dalai Lama, who rules:

Now I’m wondering if my other photos from yesterday relate to those rules.

The Rules of Living are here on YouTube:

What are your Rules of Living?

Despite Rule #10, please answer this post with a comment.

Paraphrasing Rule #12, a loving atmosphere in this blogging home (among others) is the foundation for my life.

One of my simple, best rules:

Express gratitude every day.

Thanks to the Dalai Lama, helpful rules, and YOU.

  1. I do like No. 5.

  2. I do my best to live by these rules, as I find helpful. No one is perfect, but a good way to learn.
Wish you a beautiful weekend Ann πŸ™‚

  3. Be grateful and be generous with yourself and all you have

  4. These are wise rules to live by Ann. πŸ’›
    I would add, “laugh often”
Those rubber duckies certainly made me smile 😍

  5. Every day you take us to a place we’ve never been before which makes Number 16 easy to follow. And each new place offers an opportunity to see where we’ve been from a new perspective.

  6. There was a hole at the top of your photo-taking, Ann, then it got pretty ducky to me. πŸ™‚ I was fortunate enough to be within 10 feet of the Dalai Lama when he came to the Carrier Dome, and his way of living was quite obvious in that locker room news conference, full of grace, wisdom and humor!

  7. I think there is another, maybe number nineteen or twenty. It goes something like this: Look after the cats when your neighbours are on vacation.

  8. Gratitude every day is a great rule Ann! β™‘
    Diana so

  9. I like rule numbers 10 and 18.

  10. Hmmm, sometimes wish my ex-girlfriend/s had read Rule #6

  11. I like these rules. Thanks for posting them! I hope you have settled in to your house. I am just back from a trip to visit my mother.

  12. Love the loving atmosphere of this blog!

  13. Wonderful rules and I think your photos were an authentic compliment. We have our rules to live by and then we walk out the door and act like human beings far from perfect. I agree with the others who shared that humor is essential.

  14. I thought most of your “Rules of Living” were awesome. I particularly liked rule #1, 3, and 8. This post was very engaging! Thanks!
