Day 1539: The No List

No. 1.   Here’s The No List that inspired this post:

No. 2.  The No List on that napkin holder included

  • No high fructose corn syrup,
  • No hydrogenated fats,
  • No added growth hormones in our fresh meat,
  • No artificial preservatives,
  • No artificial sweeteners.

No. 3.   The No List at Whole Foods ended with this:

No. 4.  My personal No List includes

  • No bullies.
  • No cruelty.
  • No sexism.
  • No racism.
  • No homophobia.
  • No ageism.
  • No regrets about saying “No” in the past.

No. 5.  Here’s a list of quotes about No:

  2. I notice that you start and end your list with the same quote – “No” is a full sentence. Like Lisa, I too had never considered that. Thank you.

    • I put that on the list twice because two different people said it AND it bears repeating. I’m so glad you said “Yes” to this post today, Maggie!

    I like your no list. The no of ingredients list more difficult to wholly adopt.

    Why are do and no pronounced so differently when they look like they should rhyme?

  9. No doubt about it, I’m a fan of #4. It is easier to say no and be done with it, then to resent saying yes and have to deal with the no good feelings. I’m learning! “…love yourself enough”

  13. Wow, reading all those quotes was nicely affirming. Yesterday I said no to someone who was “dumping”–not in a mean way, but certainly a thoughtless one. Normally, I let this happen since people sometimes need to vent, but yesterday, when I realized I was beginning to feel anxious and upset, I firmly ended the conversation and went on my way. I need to do that more.

  14. So many signs are No lists. My least favourite is ‘No Ball Games’ on Council estates. However ‘Thank you for not……..’ doesn’t really ring true.
