Day 1479: Open Up

I’m going to open up today’s blog with a photo I already opened up in yesterday’s post.

If you open up that greeting card, “You are AWFUL” opens up into something much more positive. I now open up this post to guesses about what you’d see if you open up that card.  If you open up a comment below, I’ll open up with an answer.

I want to open up about several other issues:

  1. Later today I’ll be seeing my Primary Care Physician, whom I’ve been opening up to for many years.
  2. I’m going to open up to her that I might not be feeling well enough to open up my work schedule to a full 36 hours per week in February, as previously planned.
  3. I’m still  recovering from being opened up for a heart valve replacement last September.
  4. I’m glad that I was opened up under the Affordable Care Act, since I’ve had a pre-existing heart condition since I first opened up my eyes.
  5. My boyfriend opened up our toilet yesterday to replace a different kind of leaky valve.
  6. That opened up a can of worms, so I’ll be opening up my cell phone today to call a plumber.

It’s time to open up all the photos I took yesterday.

I shall now open up YouTube to see if I can open up suitable music for this “Open Up” post.

Is there anything  you choose to open up about, here and now? As I discover in every therapy group I open up, opening up to other people helps our lives open up in many ways.

Finally, I’d like to open up my heart and show the gratitude within to all who helped me open up in this post and to you  — of course! — for opening up my blog, today.

  1. Ann, I am so sorry that you are not yet feeling 100 percent.

Hopefully, you weren’t trying to draw a parallel between your heart surgery and Michael’s plumbing misadventure. (You weren’t, were you? You don’t suspect that your surgeon used the forbidden putty or the wrong part?) In our house, almost every time we try to fix a problem with the toilet, we end up with a bigger problem. But then there will be the occasional time when we really can fix it that gives us hope and faith in our abilities and causes us to give it another try again the next time, and lands us in hot water… or cold water … all over again. I am not sure why toilets are so much quirkier than other plumbing tasks, but they seem to be.

Good luck at the doctor’s today.

  2. I got banned yesterday on Facebook for not using it the way intended. As best I could determine, I was going too fast through the news feed and clicking on too many emojis! It hurt my feelings. I felt bullied by FB.

I slept longer than usual last night (a depression sleep), upsetting my two kitties because they had to wait two hours past their kitty food time. They are acting up now, tearing through the house and being mean to each other and they are brothers!

I went to Google Search to try to find out what happens to FB pariahs and how they can redeem themselves. I found a link that turned out to be FB ‘s help section and the very information I couldn’t find in the search yesterday! I noticed a place at the top of the page to click back to my lifeline…! What??! And it actually took me back there! And my blog for today was there!

Am I redeemed? Don’t know. But I am cured of wasting my life on that nasty place that allowed false news that likely affected the outcome of the presidential election, and certainly helped further the divide between people pro and con Trump. Not to forget the false news will give fodder to the conspiracy theorists for years, further dumbing down the American electorate.

I’ll let my blogs go over there automatically because many of those reading it read it there, but no longer will I be there to be bullied by FB!

Hey, Ann! You asked for us to open up in the comments! I guess I did just that. Fortunately, I am basically a positive person, and the long sleep was unplanned but just the ticket to get past my incredulity that FB would actually ban me because I broke a rule that they won’t define with any specificity because it might give spammers a way to circumvent the rule. Catch 22-ish! (And I am offended to be classed with people like that.)

  3. Our internal and external plumbing needs opening up on a regular basis. Just saying … 😃

  4. I was going to guess what the card said when opened but I found a number of words ending in “-ful” that I thought should end with “-full” and wondering whether one or two l’s was proper opened up a huge can of worms, and that inevitably led to this.

  5. Easy does it back to work

  6. Glad I opened up to your blog years ago.

  7. It’s not easy opening up. Especially a toilet. Good luck with the plumber. And the doctor. And the work schedule.

  8. Not feeling 100% sucks, but at least you are still feeling something and have not gone numb or dead I am interested in what the card says

  9. This flowed so perfectly!!!

  10. Open up to the fact that I have to FaceTime often, hey that’s my dish!

  11. I wish my cold would go away so my sinuses would open up. Sorry, just seemed like a good place as any to whine today.

  12. …awesome and wonderful?

  13. Oh, I see you said that a bunch of comments earlier. Well, I didn’t cheat!
