Yesterday, I received with joy the news that my son’s student visa should be received with joy at our home by 10:30 this morning. The University of Edinburgh in Scotland now gets to receive with joy my fabulous son, who is starting a five-year mathematics program there.
Please receive with joy today’s page from this joyful book:
Please take notice that I notice more than one thing I am being given today and that I am receiving them all with joy:
- Precious time with my only child before he leaves for school tomorrow.
- A boyfriend who often says, “See Ann? Everything is coming together!”
- Work that I love.
- Wonderful friends and family.
- An extensive network of dedicated medical professionals.
- A heart that has served me well for 63 years.
- All my feelings.
- The opportunity to share these other photos with you:
What are you receiving with joy, right now?

What a relief it will be when that visa comes! And it’s not even the “last minute” yet, lol!

I join you in joy that the visa will arrive in time!
Dawn, it did arrive in time. Thanks for joining me in that joy!
Simple offerings of joy are everywhere but what struck me about the “Ode To Joy” flash mob is that so much work, planning, and preparation went into a performance that would give spontaneous joy to the crowd. And that’s not a bad thing. Many artists, musicians included, I know say that the work, the practice, even the failures are part of the joy of what we do. The pressure to be better, to be good enough to bring moments of spontaneous joy to strangers is part of the fun.
As Billie Jean King said, “Pressure is a privilege.”
I associate that phrase with you because I know you’re under a lot of pressure right now but I hope you find joy in that.
The pressure is less today, Chris, and I receive your well-prepared comment with much joy!
Ann, I receive with joy the news that Aaron is getting his visa this morning. And that things are coming together. Also– for some reason that worry doll looks a little hapoy today, even joyful, and less like Edvard Munch’s The Scream.
That’s Aaron’s worry doll and it DOES look joyful. As always, Maureen, I receive your comments with joy.
Love this blog today, Ann! The Ode to Joy was such a treat, I sent it to everyone. Your joy is infectious! May all be well for you, Aaron, Michael, the cats and everyone involved in everything important for your lives. ❤ Sunny
I’m so joyful that you spread the joy, Sunny! ❤ ❤
