Day 1272: If I Ruled the World

If I ruled the world,

my creative son would become President of the United States,

IMG_3060

there would be dedication at every turn,

IMG_3062

people would give forgiveness and accept their own greatness,

IMG_3063

all houses would stand against hate, prejudice, violence, and homophobia,

IMG_3064

everyone would practice kind listening and kind speaking, and

nobody would be afraid to sing along to songs like “If I Ruled the World” (written by Cyril Ornadel and Leslie Bricusse).

What would the world be like if you ruled the world?

Thanks to all who helped me create this worldly post and to all who are reading it right now, because you rule!

  1. You have my vote!

  2. I would like to live there!

  3. I wouldn’t want to rule the world myself–there’d be no surprises for me since being in charge is the ultimate spoiler–but I like your vision of the world. It would be much better and there’d still be surprises.
Auden said the difference between satirists and comedians is satirists mock the world in hopes of making it better while comedians simply accept the chaos. I think we need both but I think as President Aaron would be our first Satirist In Chief. And we could use one.

  4. This is a wonderful post

  5. The song expresses my wishes too. If I only had the chance…. First – no nukes.

  6. It would be a joy to live in your world, Ann!

  7. I like the way you have captioned your photographs. If Aaron were President you would no longer rule the world…. 🙂

  8. Yep- you got my vote too!

  9. That would be a great place!

  10. Now that would be a great place to live Ann!!
