Day 1091: This post might keep you up at night

In my continuing quest to get more readers, today I am trying one easy trick that doctors hate!  That is, I’m starting out with language similar to what I see everywhere on social media, which — I’m assuming —  must be successful in getting people to click and read.

But because I value authenticity and honesty, I will quickly confess to you that this blog post might actually NOT keep you up at night.  Sure, it’s keeping me up at night, because I’m writing it, right now, at 4:17 AM. But there’s no reason for me to assume that you won’t be able to sleep after reading it.

Although, who knows? Maybe one or two of these photos WILL keep you up at night.

So which ones might keep YOU up at night? Inquiring minds want to know.

In the meantime, I’m going to try to get back to sleep.

Thanks for visiting!

  1. Wendy

Hmm…I’m up too. But, I’m an hour behind you in Central Time. It’s probably the picture of the onion rings that would keep me up. I love Onion rings, they don’t love me. Get some rest!

  2. Your posts usually wake me up in the morning 🙂

  3. This is the first post I’ve read today, so good morning!

  4. Last night was one of the few nights I actually slept through- and yours was the first blog I woke up to-and that cookie/danish is keeping me up now wishing I had one!

    • It’s a chocolate-raspberry-cream-cheese scone and I wish I had another one, too! I’m glad you had a good sleep, Lisa, and it’s wonderful to wake up and find your comment.

  5. Interesting post. Not sure anything will keep me up tonight, I’m exhausted!

  6. Hey diddle diddle, Ann. Eaten past 10 p.m., the onion rings and the pizza(?) both would keep me up at night. Those old time photographs would have me dreaming of many different possible Newton stories from that time, on the other hand!

  7. I thought I could help keeping you up at night! I’m now co-producer of Penney Dreadful!

    • Ann asked which of her pictures would keep you up at night, not yours! I personally think the picture of the young man alone means everyone left the therapy room. OMG.

    • I hope you’re not too grumpy if I tell you I haven’t yet seen Penney Dreadful. Do you want to sign up for group therapy?

      • I’ve exorcised this young man. This is the moment when evil dissipates. This is why he has an expression of relief in his face.

  8. Who said he was alone?

  9. Whatever that is in your hand would keep me up all night. I did, however, get over 10 hours of sleep last night. All this entertaining is exhausting!

    • I’m glad you stopped by here today, Carol. In my hand is a delicious scone from a Newton bakery that I actually found quite soothing. I hope you are enjoying your post-entertaining rest!

  10. Not that it is any of my business — I’m just curious — but, why do you want more readers? That just means more comments to respond to! Also, your current readership seems loyal and friendly. No trolls here.

Why did you include the old photo of the Newton bank? Is that where your office is?

I love Maria’s edit to the photo of Aaron in your office. Hope you get some sleep.

    • I think it is your business and even if it weren’t, it’s a great question. Since it comes from a Canadian, I’m wondering this: is there something inherent in United States culture that we yearn for more and more? I included the old photo of the Newton bank because it was on the wall of a great restaurant near my office where Aaron and I were having lunch yesterday. And, yes, I love Maria’s edit and this comment. I’ll try to get some sleep now. Zzzzzzzzzzz

  11. The eating might keep me up. But so would the reading. But what keeps me up most nights….is not being able to shut down the old thinker.

  12. At 3 in the morning, when I can’t sleep, I’d reach for the book of art for children, and that would keep me up for a couple of more hours and maybe quiet the chittering and chattering of my mind.

  13. Onion rings always keep me up at night! Especially if I eat them!

  14. I almost DIDN’T read it because of the title, but I didn’t think you would really try t scare me into sleeplessness. I was right and couldn’t really find anything to trouble me, though maybe the raspberry rock bun affair…

  15. Since I am visiting at 8am not going to keep me up at night because by the time night rolls around I would have long forgotten about the post

  16. This is one of my exorcism training lessons:

  17. I hope you were able to get some sweet sleep!

The kids and I generally keep vampire hours when we are on vacation from homeschool, so I was up at 417, too, lol.

  18. Reblogged this on Ancien Hippie.

  19. Micki Allen

Your title worked. I was immediately drawn to the post and read it in its entirety. Kudos!
