Earlier this year, I attempted to explain The Meaning of Life. Thanks to my niece Julie’s lovely Christmas present to me last night …
… I am choosing to revisit this topic today.
Because I’m a group therapist, I usually like to go to the group, first, about any important topic. Therefore, my esteemed group of readers, what would YOU express in a journal called “The Meaning of Life”? Might you fill that journal with:
- thoughts?
- feelings?
- the past?
- the present?
- the future?
- hopes?
- dreams?
- disappointments?
- yourself?
- other people?
- lessons?
- warnings?
- the facts?
- imagination?
- words?
- images (like these, from yesterday, Christmas eve 2015)?
Your meanings will give more meaning to this meaningful post.
Happy Christmas, love, and peace to all my readers. And I mean it.
Sincerely,
My brain, heart, etc.
Ah, The Meaning of Life. Aside from being the existential question we repeatedly ask, is also the title of my favorite movie, which ends with an answer to the question, What is the meaning of life?
“Try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations”.
Merry Christmas. (Happy Chanukah greetings previously sent)
Meaningful thanks, Ray, for bringing such beautiful meaning to this post. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
From my heart to yours…all the best, Ann. 🎄
Love your heart, Van! ❤
💂 🎅 👼
I started learning about the meaning of life when I cleared my bookshelves and packed up boxes and boxes of religion and philosophy books and took them all to Good Will to let some other fool read it all and waste time.
Your comments are never a waste of time, Carl, if you get my meaning. ❤
I like Carl’s post. 2016 is my year to weed out 50% of my possessions. I am actually starting tomorrow – this kind of project needs a head start!
Paz.
Sounds like you’ve done your pre-task plan, Emilie! Thanks for this meaningful comment and peace to you, my friend. ❤
I’ve moved from place to place and so much is lost and gone. But now realize how little I really need. It actually is a liberation.
Family. I hope you are having a good time.
I am having a good time, Derrick, and — as always — a meaningful comment from you makes my time better.
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and an inspiring and profound New Year loaded with blessings, Ann! Hugs!
You are making my Christmas more wonderful and meaningful with your hopeful and kind words. Blessings and hugs back at you!
I think at a very high level life is meant to teach us to love. Whether that is through charity, service, learning tolerance, etc., we are meant to learn to get past our differences and love each other… ❤
Diana xo
As usual, I agree with your lovely meanings of life, Diana. ❤ xxoo
Thank you for a meaningful post Ann! I love that we can give life whatever meaning we like 😉
Wishing you love, peace and joy 💛🎄💛
I love meaningful you, Val! ❤
I think my post today on my blog said what I felt 🙂 ❤
I agree with your meaning and I liked that post! ❤ 🙂
Thanks so much!
I like finding a sense of humor in things. I guess I would fill it with humorous anecdotes.
Humor gives great meaning to life, Maria! ❤
A meaning of life could be “Goodbye my love!”
or, “don’t ever give that to me again!”
Cats do give interesting meaning to life.
hello ann koplow its dennis the vizsla dog hay dada sez the meening of life is 42 i hav no ideea ware he got that number frum but wotever dada!!! mary krismas!!! ok bye
Mary krismas to you and your dada, dennis. Tell him I know where he got that number. Ok, bye and thanks for giving more meaning to my blog today!
Ann,
Two thoughts:
To answer the questions is easy for me; YES, to all of them. Part of my reason for producing my blog is to explore this subject. In fact, the true name of the blog is Exploring Consensual Reality. It has ALL of those elements, photos included….
In one sense, as my second offering, is this: the meaning of life is life. The journey is the thing, not the destination. we all have, essentially, the same destination; we just don’t yet know where that is…. so, it’s our purpose here, in my lest than properly humble opinion, is to make our life our meaning… Our every act, every thought, and every perception becomes the journey, to wherever we choose…
As Johann von Goethe said, “Everything is simpler than you think and at the same time more complex than you imagine.”
Achieving mindfulness, with this thought at the top, makes the meaning we choose into reality….
gigoid, the dubious
Many thanks for all your complex and simple thoughts, gigoid.
Merry Christmas Ann, and I seriously mean it. ❤
Thanks for another meaningful comment!
The meaning of life can be different for all people, that said, Merry Christmas to you and yours, I had a good one, just saying
This all means a lot to me, Joanne.
More than positive every individual has asked him/herself that same question before. The meaning of life? I personally believe it’s making the best of what we have. To love on those around us unconditionally, to give all that we can, to hope on a better world, and to jump on what our heart tugs us to. Life is hysterical, always playing jokes on us, but being offended and sensitive to its playfulness will only leave us with bruises. I believe it’s to just laugh and enjoy the moment because it’s only temporary – all of it is.
I love the expressing meaning of this comment, Alby. Many thanks.
Have a joyous and blessed Christmas, Ann!
Thanks for making my life more joyous and blessed!
I think the meaning of life is in the living of it.
I think I agree with your meaning, Robert.
