A thousand days ago, I published my first blog post ever: “Day 1 in the Year of Living Non-Judgmentally.”
A thousand days ago, I had no idea I would:
- blog a thousand days in a row,
- get thousands of followers,
- have a thousand ideas for blog posts,
- grow and learn in a thousand ways, and
- be a thousand times grateful, every day, for this blog.
There are a thousand different ways I could celebrate this thousandth blogging day. For example, I could write a post that contains exactly a thousand words. Or, I could share a thousand memories from over the last 1000 days of blogging. Or, I could include a thousand links to past posts. Or, I could quote a thousand favorite comments from you, my readers.
However, after a thousand thoughts and feelings about this, I’d like to use my tried-and-true formula, here and now.
Therefore, today’s thousandth day post will include sharing less than a thousand pictures. Yesterday, I took almost a 1000 (base 2) x 1000 (base 2) photos, when I went into Boston to see a matinee of A Little Night Music with my son Aaron and spent the evening with Aaron and my boyfriend Michael.
I hope this thousandth post doesn’t take a thousand seconds to load, with these all these images:
Perhaps you have a thousand things you might say or ask about those photos. No matter what number of words it takes, consider leaving a comment to celebrate this thousandth post.
I bet if you took a thousand guesses, you wouldn’t come up with the song I’ve chosen for this “A Thousand Days” post.
Should I wait a thousand seconds while you guess?

Times up! I’m sure you didn’t get it, because it includes a much higher number than a thousand.
“A Hundred Million Miracles” is the song that was in my head, yesterday, as I was thinking about this thousand-day post.
As that song says, a hundred million miracles happen EVERY DAY. Infinite thanks, to each and every one of you, for sharing some of those miracles with me.
Congratulations Ann, you’ve been blogging a long time now !
Thank you, Amber! I am a thousand times glad to see your comment today.
I remember the very first day you wrote your first post. I’ve had numerous blogs since that day. Yet you’ve consistently kept writing on your blog each day. You’ve been quite the inspiration.
That, to me, Amber, is miraculous, that you remember my first post and that you’re commenting today. I am a thousand times grateful for you.
My first blog was: peace4Animals, then I changed to: freedom for cetaceans. Then I changed my blog again ! 🙂 yet I’ve silently been following your blog, you probably didn’t realise it was me, but I’ve been here, keeping track of your story. Amazing really, how we’ve all got to know you, through your writing. X x
It is amazing, Amber! Love to you and to all you bring to the world.
And much love to You too Ann.
CONGRATULATIONS, Ann!!!! I do not know how you do all you do, but you seriously need to be commended! One thousand posts non-stop is a huge milestone. You are a far bigger person then I, Ms. Ann. Bless your Heart for all you do both here on WP and in the world. It’s an honor to call you friend. Love, Amy ❤
It is thousand times an honor for me to call you friend, dear Amy.
Love,
Ann
Congratulations on number 1000!
Thank you, Debbie! Isn’t it great that we’ve stayed in touch over thousands of days, sharing thousands of MDS and Red Sox memories?

Diana xo
A thousand times love to you, Diana!
and by sun, I mean son – egads!
And, if I’ve said this once I’ve said this a thousand times, don’t worry about mistakes. They’re human! (And by the way, those are geese, not ducks.) ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ xxxxxxoooooooooo
lol I’m on a roll!
Here’s to a thousand more mistakes from me and you, Diana!
Dear Ann, I’ve only been aware of and following your blog for less than half of your 1,000 posts. Yet I have enjoyed each one and getting to know you better, a fellow traveler and colleague. I hope you will still post often. Thank you for sharing these 1,000 windows into who you are and what you’ve seen each day. Love, Sunny
Thank you for showing with every word you share, Sunny, how lovely and supportive you are.
Love,
Ann

My impression: Ilse of Wight.(http://www.co.isle-of-wight.va.us/). From the 1000×1000 photos –> When I”m 64 by he Beales. The site contains a slogan (local roots-global reach) and this blog epitomizes that especially when one lets their mind roam with the photos. It is easy to be fenced in an frame our experiences in limiting ways but we can choose whether we notice the fences or the possibilities, the concrete jungle or the open fields because the road we are on passes through all these places and we need remember its a journey and each moment is both destination and departure point from where we are now. Something like that – I just twittered back and forth on my keyboard for nearly a minute. I know that I can consistently do something, like morning meditation, one day in a row. Hmm, I suppose if I ended and started each day with the knowledge that I did and truly started each day with that belief only doing it remains. Extending outwards – we can choose.
Thanks.
Best,
Bob 770-670-8043
A thousand thanks for sharing all these thoughts and your best regards here today, Bob!
Also, thanks for inspiring me to include this thousand times great song:
I’ll be 64 in less than a thousand days!
Hi, my friend. That is quite a feat – 1000 posts. Wow!!!! Makes my 76 posts seem quite paltry. Congratulations on reaching such a commendable milestone. Will there be a 1000 more? I hope so. Because I will be here to leave little comments.
Have a most magnificent Sunday!!!!!!
There’s nothing paltry about you, SD. Please repeat that a thousand times a day.
I am a thousand times grateful for your magnificent comments — past, present, and future!
In this world of ten thousand things, you still have nine thousand of them to investigate before you have to start repeating yourself. Congratulations!
I am 9000 times grateful for you and how you never repeat yourself, Jeff!!!!!
1000 x (Thank you for sharing your heart and hopes and worries and wanderings with us every day.)
1000 x 1000 x (Congratulations on your 1,000th post, achieved through remarkable effort, creativity and persistence.)
I have 1000 to the 1000th power gratitude that you and I met at WordPress, Maureen. ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ etc.
Your 1000th post fell on the day of the supermoon eclipse. Astronomically good planning! After viewing the eclipse, I dropped back in here to revisit this post, which I first read this morning on my phone. It is extraordinary how different the post looks on my computer. The photos are different sizes and placed differently. I even missed one of those photos of Aaron the first time around. But not the photo of the moon. That one caught my eye even early in the day.
I am a thousand times grateful for whatever astronomical alignments caused my blog to first catch your extraordinary eye, Maureen, hundreds of days ago. xxoo
Congrats on 1000 days of posting…which, to me, is so much more significant and special than reaching 1000 posts…which some folks seem to be trying to do in a matter of months! Thank you for making your daily posts singular and special. They are so worthy ! ❤️
Thank you, 1000 times worthy Van, for all your significant and special words here!!!! And ❤ back at you.
Ann, You are so modest! You didn’t disclose that Hollywood has already released a movie about you! http://www.nytimes.com/movies/movie/2542/Anne-of-the-Thousand-Days/overview
But you’re much prettier than Genevieve Bujold.
Lawry, you are so flattering! And I’m so glad we’ve known each other for thousands of weeks.
You are batting a thousand with the awesome pictures! Congratulations on your 1000th post!
You’re batting a thousand with your comments, Kim! Thanks for the awesome congratulations.

If I lived a thousand years, Joanne, I could not argue with your logic. Thanks for all your support; it’s been priceless.
I’m in awe of your stamina and continued ability to be engaging and creative. Congratulations on such a hard-earned, great milestone!
Thanks for this great comment. With support like this, I feel ready for a thousand more posts!
Congratulations on achieving this great milestone, Ann. May your next 1,000 provide for you and your readers a lot more of the same!
I am grateful to you Russ, for your kindness and compassion, which you share so generously on WordPress. I look forward to more of the same from you, too!
Yeeha for you!
Yeeha a thousand times back at you, Julie!
Your thousand day blog came on the day of the blood red lunar eclipse of a super moon; The Universe applauding you.
And I’m applauding you, Mary!
My goodness, Ann. When you started this, did you ever think you’d get to 1,000? Or did you think about it at all? Congratulations!
I live day by day, Emilie, so I often don’t look too far into the future. But I’m glad I made it to this milestone and I’m so grateful for how you’ve accompanied me on this journey!
Congratulations x 1,000
Gratitude x 2,000, Derrick.
