Day 695: It keeps you running

What keeps me running?

Actually, I can’t physically run,  these days, because of how my heart and my pacemaker are running.  I’m not sure what this all means — in terms of my present and my future —  but here’s something that keeps me running: my faith that doctors and I will figure things out and come up with the best plans to keep me running, on this earth, for as long as possible.

Here’s a song that came on, yesterday, when I was walking, not running, to work:

(“It Keeps You Running,” performed live by Michael McDonald and The Doobie Brothers, runs here, on YouTube)

Here are some photos I took yesterday, of things that keep me (and others) running (or which like to run):

What keeps you running?

Many thanks to Michael McDonald, to The Doobie Brothers, to all people, cats and things that run as best they can, and to you — of course! — for running by here today.

  1. Great photos- and in the words of Jackson Browne, may you never be “Running on Empty” (Your cat has amazing balance standing on the arm of that chair 😀

  2. I love how you remind me to look up, down, all around and capture the wonder and awe all around.

That keeps me running! And walking! 🙂

  3. Great photos Ann and all the best in regards to your health. ❤

  4. This may seem random, but I love your floors. You might say that I am getting to the bottom of things.

  5. Maria

    Dear Ann,
Sorry to hear about the pacemaker issue. Best of luck in getting it resolved quickly. XO, Maria

  6. Hello, what keeps me running? I have a whole lot of people who told me I can’t, my whole life! Pushing water up hill? Stubbornness? Stupidity? I don’t know? But I have to tell you, I meant to tell you on a earlier post, (I must of got sidetracked by a kid,😐), I have the same black boots you were wearing in a photo you took of your cat, and I have this rug with your cat! All this means nothing, I just find it amusing. It’s the little things! Have a wonderful holiday!

  7. Ann, you’re on a two-year run of blog superiority, going strong, going proud, going to all measures to stay in tune with life. And we run to it every day to read your wisdom, see your pictures, listen to your songs. What a connection. Thank you, and bless you and your special heart. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Aaron and Michael. 🙂

  8. Love the song, the post and the photos. While you may not be able to run, your mind is a flutter and very much alive. Happy Thanksgiving Ann.

  9. Big smile for your cat (sorry I should know his/her name) sitting so neatly on the arm of the chair.
